The Wyoming Cowgirls continue rolling their competition. The Cowgirls are led by senior Hilary Carlson who was awarded with the MWC women’s player of the week with her performances vs. Montana and Utah State. The Cowgirls started the week in Montana to take on the Lady Griz. The Cowgirls have never won in Missoula. Led by Carlson and fellow senior Aubrey Vandiver the Cowgirls made sure that wasn’t going to happen again. They dominated from the tip-off, eventually beating the Lady Griz at Dahlberg Arena. Carson had 23 points and 8 boards while Vandiver helped with 22 points and 9 boards. The Cowgirls followed that up a beating of Utah State in Logan, UT  81-51. The Cowgirls will next play Montana-Western in an exhibition in Rock Springs on Dec 30th.

The Cowboy wrestlers turned in their best performance of the season to date as they competed in the Reno Tournament of Champions. Led by Shane Onufer and Joe LeBlanc the Cowboys cruised to first place. Onufer won the 165 pound bracket and was named most outstanding wrestler, as well as WWC wrestler of the week. The Pokes beat Boise State by 1.5 points. Onufer posted a 6-0 record on his way to first place. Senior Cole Dallaserra finished in 2nd place, losing to the #2 ranked Jason Chamberlain of Boise State. Redshirt freshman and Wyoming native Tyler Cox finished in 3rd place. The Cowboys will be back in action after the new year in Virginia for the Virginia Duals.

The Cowboy basketball team has been winning as of late with wins over Western State and Centenary, as well as Denver, but had a disappointing home loss to Wisconsin-Green Bay, a team from the CBI tournament last year. The Cowboys will next be in action tomorrow night as they take on Kennesaw State in the AA.
