Wyoming Nation focuses mainly on University of Wyoming athletics but sometimes there is something Wyoming sports related that must be noted and one of those times is here. The 2012 London summer games kicked off yesterday with women’s soccer and the opening ceremonies will be held on Friday. Like most of us in Wyoming I prefer the winter games to the summer games but I do find the warmer version of the Olympiad to be entertaining and I will be watching. This year’s games feature two Wyoming athletes that I encourage you to support they are:

Archery: Jennifer Nichols (Cheyenne, WY)

Rowing: Brett Newlin (Riverton, WY)

Both Nichols and Newlin represented the USA at the 2008 Beijing games and this will be their second go-round in the Olympics. I would like to wish both of these Wyoming athletes the best of luck as they represent Team USA on the other side of the pond!

Are there any other athletes with Wyoming connections? If you know of any let me know in the comments section of this blog or find me on Twitter(@CowboyToughBlog ).
