WR Recruit's Film, Barry vs. Sween, and Dax Crum stories

Here are a few different links to some stuff I thought you guys might like to read/see. Here's the url to the highlight film of Jevon Reynolds, a WR from Denver that Wyoming has offered a scholarship to: http://wyoming.scout.com/a.z?s=367&p=2&c=746772 . Reynolds' film is pretty impressive. T...

Re: JOHN FLETCHER FACTS

Guys, that might be the funniest thread I've ever read. I sat here for like 10 minutes trying to think of one of my own to add to it, and I just couldn't. Keep up the good work. :)

Re: QB Competition Wide Open

I went to practice yesterday, and Hetrick is competing for the quarterback job--no switch to WR. Sween looks really strong, physically. He was zipping his passes to receivers in practice, and I thought he had the best day of the four quarterbacks. Crum threw a couple floaters that didn't impress me ...

Re: Greg Bolling??

Bolling's situation is kinda precarious. From what I understand, he really needs to do well academically at LCCC to get back and be eligible for football in the fall. Hopefully, since he doesn't have to concentrate on spring ball, he'll be able to do it. But not practicing with the team right now do...

Re: Rumor: Stutzreim pegged as starter

I agree. New system, new position coach and offensive coordinator, two new highly-touted QBs, one QB who just finished his redshirt, two more returning that have played either a little or a lot of DI ball: How could it not be wide open?

Re: Cal st Bakersfield

Yeah, I saw it. Linskens was 10-15 from the field with a pair of 3 balls. By far his best game all year, but Cal State Bakersfield didn't have much of a post presence. Still, the offense is looking better and better all the time, and Schroyer said after the game that he thought this was the first ti...

He will grayshirt this season for the Pokes. He should be up on Scout sometime soon.

Re: Signing Day at UW

McDonald was originally supposed to enroll at UW for the current spring semester, but he didn't. Now coaches are hearing that he will be here in the fall, but Wisniewski told me, "We'll see what happens, though," today after the press conference. UW can't offer him a scholly because he has...

Re: Cowboys pick up a kicker commitment

Yeah, they have one left. But no, I don't think they should give it to Cullen--not that it would be horrible if they did, but I think McCoy can handle both punting and kicking duties, he's signed with the team, and we still have other punters/kickers on the roster from past seasons. I don't know wha...

Re: Rumor: Stutzreim pegged as starter

I actually got a chance to talk to both Ron Wisniewski and Joe Glenn about this today at the recruiting press conference, and both of them were adamant that the QB spot is "wide open" right now. They are not leaning toward any of the players at all. Wisniewski made a point of saying that K...

Re: Cowboys in a nutshell

I agree. Excellent article. Except I think it's good the way it is--without the referees giving it to us in the shorts part. I know fans were pissed after the UW-BYU game about the foul calls. I think there were 2-3 that shouldn't have been called. But I've seen a lot of games in a lot of diff...

He can't complain about the officating, but he sure wanted to. You could see it all over his face in the postgame press conference.

"It's very, very frustrating," he said. "I'll just leave it at that."

TKoehn, Haha...Actually I just went out on the street one day and bought a Magic Eight Ball from some guy with a pitchfork and a red cape. Don't know what was up with him, but this thing has been working wonders for me ever since. 8-) I actually based my whole position on that issue solely on stats....

Re: Rumor: Stutzreim pegged as starter

No you can't. And wow, this is a new one for me; first time I've heard someone say Stutzriem would be the starter. In the few weeks that Cole has been the offensive coordinator, we've heard that: 1. Hetrick was transferring 2. Hetrick had transferred 3. Hetrick hadn't transferred and wasn't going to...

That game was ridiculous. Legerski emptied his bench to try to stop UNLV's bleeding, and the Cowgirls just kept running away. I'd never seen anything like it.

Re: Recruit Marboe backs out of verbal, commits to Idaho

I know that Glenn tries to meet every year with every high school coach in Wyoming. It's not like UW doesn't ever go after in-state kids. It's just that most of the time, the Pokes' coaches want them to walk on and earn their scholarship later. I don't know why that is other than maybe they figure t...

Re: Recruit Marboe backs out of verbal, commits to Idaho

The recruits in this class are better than the stars they've been given, IMO. Scout.com seems to have an affinity for bumping down everyone who commits to Wyoming by one star. It makes me mad, but then again, no matter how many stars they get, it doesn't change what they are in reality. But just for...

Re: Orlando Arnold

Arnold is supposed to be a more athletic, receiving tight end. He's 6-foot-4 and 259 pounds so he has great size. From everything I've heard, he will probably start right away, although we'll find out more about that when Glenn holds his recruiting press conference in a couple weeks. Arnold is a bas...

Re: Recruit Target Casey McMillan, Billings Central

I was surprised to hear that Washington State took the offer off the table because last time I had heard anything, he was supposed to be thier No. 1 target at lineman. I think they were his first choice, too, but he just wanted to make a visit first. I see this a lot with recruiting. Kids hold off t...

Re: Wyoming lands David James, DB

Haven't heard anything about Heiss, but the most recent commit is Tashaun Gipson from Dallas, Texas. He's Marcel Gipson's (current Cowboy) younger brother. They'll both be playing cornerback here. I talked to Gipson's high school coach this week, and he had nothing but positive things to say about G...
