I think the way it works is he doesn't make an additional salary for the practice squad, he just gets his guaranteed contract while sitting on a practice squad spot.

Life comes at you fast, I guess.

Re: How much $$ has Brian Hill made to this point?

Not much, sad to say. His signing bonus was $269,000. So he made that, plus his base guarantee of $122,000. I think, but don't know, that the base guarantee is paid out over the 17 weeks of the season. So, as of today he's probably made about $300,000 over the course of his NFL career to this point,...

Re: WOOO HOOO, im offically on vacation

I was told by CJC before the game that so long as our containers were opaque mugs or cups and not an actual can, and no one was being a drunk problem, that their expectation was that the open container things would not be strictly enforced. That turned out not to be true at all for those of us in th...

Re: WOOO HOOO, im offically on vacation

Just remember not to tailgate before noon, and that the tailgate (meaning open container) ends promptly at kickoff. I was hassled by cops twice within 7 minutes of kickoff to dump my beer out of my mug. In terms of profiling, I'm 41 and I had my daughter on my shoulders so they're not just targeting...

Re: 2016-2017 vs. 2013-2014 Cowboy Basketball

Man, great post. I don't disagree on any of your basic findings, but would add some significance to a few of them. The spread between James and Josh Adams at this point in their respective careers offensively is not that far apart. I still give Adams the nod just for his ability to radically change ...

Re: Shyatt retirement rumors...

It doesn't seem like he's all that enthusiastic about the job. He almost left last summer and now this? That's not quite fair. Shyatt has many, many close friends in the NBA. One of them offered him a very unique, highly-paid opportunity. Shyatt would have been crazy to not consider it. Especially ...

Re: Shyatt retirement rumors...

I haven't heard any reasons so anything I put out there would just be a wild assed guess. With that disclaimer I am inferring that it's simply a mix of age and desire for a firm succession plan for his assistants. I also don't think people understand how close Shyatt was to jumping to the NBA last s...

Re: Shyatt retirement rumors...

I can tell you it's not just a rumor but it's also not quite 100% either. Sometimes I troll people when real life gets too boring but this isn't one of those times. I was just trying to crowd source some information. From what I've heard from people close to the department and the program is that it...

Re: Average attendance for last 3 home games?

Talking paid attendance or actual butts in seats? I think it's going to go off a cliff now that we're moving into the heart of hunting season. I bet there might only be 5000 asses in seats for UNLV. Don't think we'll see more than 15,000 actual seats filled the rest of the way. Why would someone dri...

Re: Rainy Day fund to be spent on athletics

And this is only the beginning. The state isn't even close yet to feeling the full impact of the downturn. This isn't a conspiracy theory, this is just the way things are. Wyoming's budget lags about three years behind commodity prices. Because of the complexity of the state's mineral tax code, the ...

Re: Are the two mutually exclusive?

That's a pretty good, thorough answer, but there's a few possibilities left out of the argument- one is revenue enhancement (beer sales being one example). The other, very big one, would be HNW donor gift-based. A UW Athletics Endowment that generates funds on interest and investment. If we had eve...

Re: Are the two mutually exclusive?

In a perfect world, or in a P5 conference, I don't think they are mutually exclusive. In our world, I'm afraid it's pretty close. Wyoming is unique. That's been long established. But it's worth looking at what that really means when it comes to the cold reality of dollars and cents. Wyoming currentl...

Re: If not Bohl, them who?

First point is that the fanboys interpret concern or questioning of method as people getting pitchforks and torches ready to run Bohl out of town. There are actually VERY FEW people who are not on board with Bohl through at minimum 2 more years. I have long contended that our issues at Wyoming are ...

Re: If not Bohl, them who?

If Bohl doesn't develop a consistent winner by 2019 it's time to think seriously about considering a different model for the athletics department. We've been told ad nauseum that two things will never happen: Wyoming will never spend Boise State type money on football and Wyoming will never drop dow...

We have 5 contributing seniors on the team. And half the junior who are contributing, are playing out of position. Beside all the seniors Bohl inherited last year.....there was no linebacker depth behind those guys. That is poop recruiting Cup...poop. I don't disagree with you at all. Outside of th...

Re: The Bohl and Strong approach

Fanboys, I know I know, DC blew everything up and Bohl is simply putting pieces back together, but shove off--that is a topic for another thread. Count me as one who has never completely bought this argument that DC fouled the bed so completely that 0-5 was inevitable this year. Does anyone really ...
