Re: Assuming football is played in its entirety...
3 or so. Team has the potential to go 10-2 if the defense doesn't drop off, floor is 6-6 IMO. Answer is more often than not somewhere in the middle like 8-4, but Cowboy football is in a great place. When you can realistically dream of 10-2 and know bowl eligibility is the likely minimum outcome, wel...

Re: Vegas O/U season win total: 6?
I can see where they're coming from. A really up and down offense (with all our top pass catchers gone) and new DC, there are a lot of questions going in to the season. This isn't ideal, no doubt...but it's not quite as bad as the plethora of first-year head coaches in the MW. Imagine for Hawaii fo...

Re: 2020 schedule
Utah should give a good snapshot regarding the level of competitiveness now vs teams of old. It's one thing playing a bunch of current MWC also rans but Utah was a pretty solid top MWC team in the heyday. I'm not sure they are quite as good as they were but should be decent and perhaps a little dee...

Re: How "screwed" should we really feel?
This is just the life of a G5 program. At program's like Boise State, holding onto a coordinator for 3 seasons means either 1) they got lucky af this time around or 2) this coordinator hasn't been convincing in this role. The financial gap in this sport is getting ridiculous. When it comes to boltin...

Re: Something to think about
I get it all, I'm just saying, anything could happen especially if $s right, never say never I'll say this much: it's laaate. After signing day and that program has major off-the-field issues. They've received two big no's already from Narduzzi and Fickell. Bohl is probably Plan K, but they just mi...

Re: Something to think about
Being a possibility is a long way from being a real threat to leave. I'm sure Coach Bohl has made the Top 10 candidates list for several openings in recent years, but I'd be stunned if he was actually offered a contract.

Re: Rocky interesting article
I'll give it two seasons before a MW coach complains about the Mountain Division being much stronger than the West Division. 2019 championship featured at best the 4th best MW team, 2020 might be worse.

I've read his sister lives in Laramie. Not sure if he's for the idea of competing head-to-head with Gonzales at UNM though.

Re: Dickert and others leaving for wash st
I think the program/team will be alright, but this is a kick in the sack in the short term. Three coaches (recruiters) lost a few days after the dead period ends? Remaining coaches will need to put sleep on layaway.

Three coaches?! Jesus, Bohl needs to file a restraining order against Rolovich.

NYE, warm weather location. Considering Craig Thompson has completely whiffed on the MW bowl options, this could have been worse.

Re: Mountain West Title Game Preview
What an odd season. -Fresno State had one of the ugliest turnarounds I've ever seen. -San Diego State's offense got *worse*. Still went 9-3. -Boise won games with three different starting QBs (two of which stink). -Hawaii benefitted from the West Division's wackiness and picked up a trophy (I think,...

Re: I think we at least cover: usu
Frankly, USU had been downright embarrassingly bad recently until that trip to Fresno. Have the Aggies turned a corner, or do the Bulldogs just stink? I think Wyoming has a chance if it can rattle Love like they did last fall.

Re: On the bright side, I don't feel Boise has better athletes or football players than us
Boise State is a really good football team. One that is being massively dragged down by one of the conference's worst offensive lines. If they could give Bachmeier decent protection (which they can't), that wide receiver group would feast. Wyoming is dominant in the trenches. That can mask a lot of ...

Josh Love is the best quarterback in the conference, and it might not be close.

Wow. Would be a big loss. Can't say this is unexpected though. Sean's playing style is unsustainable.

Re: Looking ahead....
6-2, bowl eligible before reaching November. Pokes should be plenty confident. Concerns: lack of clarity on Chambers' injury, 1-2 on the road, and that one win wasn't flattering vs. now 2-5 Texas St. (three of last four are on the road). I said 8-4 before the season, and I'll stick around there with...

Re: Season's far from over
Was surprised to see the Pokes rank 125th in passing yards allowed. Shocking stat when considering the quality of QBs has faced. Of course, the rushing defense ranks 10th so nobody is establishing the run against Wyoming. Still, aside from Kelly Bryant, the QBR's of those other QBs are 88th, 91st, 1...

Re: Revised Predictions?
I said 8-4 before the season, and 8-4 still feels about right. 7-5 if a bounce doesn't go their way, 9-3 if a little luck is afforded. Concerns: opponents with actual defenses, and just the general nature of conference play. Conference opponents will be better prepared for Wyoming than the out-of-co...

Re: Wyo @ Tulsa
3-1 is nothing to squabble over. Didn't get there the way many expected, but tbh 2-2 wouldn't have shocked anyone. Didn't hit best case scenario, but they were much closer to it than "meh" or worst case scenario. This team can finish 8-5. Offense is nothing to fear, but frankly Wyoming's b...
