Thinking ahead a bit...
While the timing may be off for the game and the ticket sales may be lower than expected, I am quite excited to head to Albucracky on Friday. Not only did we beat CSU this year, I get the added bonus of a bowl game...Christmas came early. The opponent isn't exactly earth-shattering in terms of excit...

Re: The Reason(s) Fresno Beats UW.
3. Fresno almost beat #3 Cincinnati and Wisconsin on the road. Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. Give it a rest EPS. When Fresno beat Cinci - they weren't #3 and Wisky was down to what, their 3rd string QB? Even so, they gave them a game - but we only rolled over in the BYU game, w...

You are not one of "us"
In your opening line, you talk about "The Reasons Fresno Beats us in ABQ." In order to be a part of "us," you actually have to be a Cowboy fan - not a Joe Glenn fan - but a Wyoming Cowboys fan. Now I am not usually one of those holier than thou - "you have to agree with me a...

So I heard...
that CSU just bought 500 septic "tanks"....they say as soon as they learn to drive 'em, they are going to attack Wyoming.
Heard that in a bar in Imperial Beach when we were out for the WYO/SDSU game.

Realistic Expectations...
So if someone told you - before the season started that we would be going to Fart Colons to play our way into a bowl, what would you have said? Given the fact that our beloved Pokes have only been to 1 bowl in the past upmteen years and after having watched them in the Spring Game, I would have said...

We need two wins - if one is against BYU or TCU - great
I would absolutely love to paste the Coogies - and would relish a TCU surprise - but in terms of our football future, we need two wins - at least - and a bowl. Certainly a win against TCU, in itself, would mark a significant upturn in recruiting for us - but a bowl is critical. If DC and this crew c...

I am torn on this...
On one hand, it might elevate one player above 10 or 21 others, depending on how you look at it. On the other, if you watch the games - you'll see that ACS is the only one giving us a shot in most plays. Absent his feet, we lose to UNLV and lose to FAU. It could certainly be argued that the line isn...

Re: False Starts
So, 1016, surely the coaching staff sees these same things, right? Are you seeing the same problems today that were there in Game 1? Game 2? If so, that concerns me a bit. In terms of "splits" - as you watch Mizzou, Oklahoma, KU, Texas Tech - they alway talk about the wide splits as though...

Re: False Starts
Very good insights 1016. Do you know how our current array of linemen/potential recruits rate in terms of your analysis? I think you are right - between a stationary brick wall and a nimble, smarter, disciplined but smaller guy...I'll take the latter.

Re: False Starts
O line recruiting does not seem to be a priority - given the nature of our commits thus far. Does anyone know the conventional wisdom behind this part of the recruiting scheme? Do we have a stockpile that they think they can develop? Do they think that the current guys will get better with time? Are...

I don't really care for moral victories...
However, given our recent history on the road, and particularly with Utah - I can honestly say I am surprised. If a couple of plays go the other way, the Pokes could have pulled it off. Given the fact that we are playing umpteen freshmen - which indicates a little bit about DC's recruiting prowess -...

Facilities Upgrades Questions
I was curious if anyone knows "what's next" on the athletic facilities front. Burman has suggested that the AA is in need of a facelift - which is true. The Birleffi Press Box on the West side of the War will no doubt need updating, given what the other side will look like. Does anyone kno...

Re: I think this will become a great series again
I absolutely agree. If a coach is leaving for another school, it usually means that they have done something good. I'd much rather have them leaving after having done well than having to fire guys for not producing W's. I know some will argue, but look at Burman's hiring record...we've taken a step ...

Re: www.UteFans.Net
Given the way Utah is recruiting and the program that has been established, they will likely be bowl eligible in the coming years. But success, as I have said, is fleeting. Look at Alabama - it hasn't been five years since they were in the toilet. Look at Nebraska - they clearly have work to do, and...

Re: www.UteFans.Net
I don't necessarily disagree with your assertion that the Pac-10 may be the only way for Utah to get constant access to the BCS. I don't even disagree that our football team doesn't warrant much respect - at least yet. I just don't appreciate uninformed bashing of the academic side of UW and the ass...

Re: www.UteFans.Net
I lurk a little on UteFans.net. While I generally appreciate their perspectives, as they are usually attacking the Y relentlessly, they seem to be heading in the direction of acting like their hated nemisis. Now I understand that we don't deserve much respect - we haven't earned it. But wow are they...
