Will be interesting to see if there were any deserters that didn't report...
Seemed with DC that there were always a handful that didn't show up in the fall.

It shocks me that multiple uniform and helmet combinations are too gimmicky and attracts student athletes who aren't of the moral fiber we should want here but actual gimmicks like this are praised. Im not saying that they aren't cool and absolutely a step in the right direction as far as culture change but it makes me laugh the outlook of this board.POKE FAN wrote:

Not a good thing that we lose an OT with solid size. Sure he may not have been good enough to start, but we don't have any depth whatsoever there.POKE FAN wrote:https://twitter.com/mikevorel/status/496329948827615232

Cowboys open fall camp Monday morning
And so it begins.
Wyoming’s first of 24 practices of fall camp started Monday morning in Laramie. The team did some drill work, walk-throughs and stretching in its indoor practice facility, and then headed out to Jonah Field at War Memorial Stadium for the rest of practice.
Unfortunately, the media is allowed to watch only the first 30 minutes of practice, which was all indoor so there is not a lot to report.
But here are a couple of observations:

Here we go again.
The Wyoming football team opened its fall camp on Monday, working both in the Indoor Practice Facility and on Jonah Field in the first of 24 practices.
Here are a few observations from the Cowboys' debut.

I think the reality at QB is that Bohl is not looking for anybody who can light it up. He's looking for somebody who can read a defense, call an audible, hand the ball off cleanly and complete short, safe throws. Think of "Ground Chuck".
Right now, Kirkegaard is that guy.
We're going to have to win on game plan, not improvisation like we did with Brett.

Unless our o-line improved drastically, our QBs will anyways.CowboyCO wrote:The one thing I noticed is that there are no red shirts at first practice. he wants the QBs to feel the heat from day one.
Based on Vorel's observations, doesn't sound like the freshman will be given much of a chance to compete. Kirkegaard is the massive favorite to start vs the Grizzlies.
Applyby got the first team snaps at NT. He's still listed at 260 lbs. That can't be right....defense is going to get torched with a NT that small.
