I had to throw out a mostly full water bottle I had for my little girl before I could go in and then had to buy $3+ bottle of water. I was pretty pissed
Sound system does suck. South scoreboard just scrolls donor names?? North scoreboard needs to be 3x bigger with sound coming from multiple sources instead of from just scoreboard. I like the idea of TVS in concourse area.
As the team goes, I think we are exactly where most of thought we would be. QB play is questionable and the running game should be decent if our line can open holes against better competition. D looks to be better than last year. Nothing about the game surprised me really.

#6) Agreed. If you don't want to miss kickoff, get your ass into the stadium sooner. No brainer. That's not UW's fault.LawPoke wrote:I was generally happy with the game...
As for the gameday experience, I would offer several things:
(1) the sound system SUCKS.
(2) concessions and facilities on the West side SUCK.
(3) it still chaps my butt that the fat cats in the Wildcatter can drink beer and the rest of us cannot.
(4) the band is very good. Kudos for building it up. Now let them play and cut the music...most all of it.
(5) thanks for the W-Y-O chant at the beginning...now do more of it.
(6) as for the lines, I started into the game at 1:20 and stood in line for 2 minutes. Fans need to realize that if there is a chance for more than 20k in the stands, they have to start heading into the stadium earlier or risk missing the start.
(7) Montana fans were into the game...Wyoming fans, for the most part, sucked. Granted, the rain delays and early play hurt our excitement, but the War was like a morgue for most of the game. On several second and third downs for Montana, I could hear the QB yelling out the playcall - that is UNACCEPTABLE.
(8) Jack Nokes is a nice guy and I will always appreciate his open mic gaffe after another blunder on special teams during the Koenning years (with the kicker literally kicking the ball into the center's kiester), but he is about as exciting as a funeral officiant. Mind you, I don't want the craptastic announcer that CSU has...but something a bit more vibrant might help the atmosphere.
#7) I was shocked how many wussbags we had in the stands as well. The lightning delays and little bouts of rain scared a lot of people away. We say we want "cowboy tough" but we can't handle some rain drops? Weak. Embarrassing.
If you don't like the indoor tailgate park, set up shop outside. Plenty of people were outside tailgating. Besides, it looked like the usual area for tailgate park was flooded all to hell.
Whiny little bitches we are.

I had the mobile ticket. They sent me to three different gates. No go.
Waited in ticket line for 20 mins to be told no go. They finally escorted me in and just let me in.
Summary- don't use mobile ticket option. Fail.

Mobile ticket worked for me. I went through about 45 min before kickoff right next to the ticket office section. There was a long line and a short, fast moving line right next to it. Took approx 2 min to get through.

Even had to text the other ticket to my buddy because he was late, worked great for him as well.

(9) Replace Jones with Finley. Jones looked horrible (clueless, slow, hesitant, afraid to hit).
(10) I am willing to give the Cap'n another week or 4. Jury is out. I trust Bohl on this one. 4 for a reason.
(11) The "countdown" to sell-out was obviously misleading. There was a disconnect there. Lies.
(12) When did the rain delays become a thing with Cowboy Football? I have never seen happen as much, as it has the last 5 or so years. Global warming?

It's not so much that there'd more lightning than there used to be. It's stricter regulations on what to do when its around.McPeachy wrote: (12) When did the rain delays become a thing with Cowboy Football? I have never seen happen as much, as it has the last 5 or so years. Global warming?
I used to think it was a bit overkill but when someone got struck by lightning at the RS golf course last spring immediately after they postponed the state soccer tournament, I know it's a necessary move.

3938 short of a "sell out" - which was roughly 2,500 off from the "sell out meter" marketing thing UW did.
It is what it is...but obviously there is a disconnect somewhere at UW

Is it possible that 1,400 tickets were sold but went unused? Seems like a lot to waste, but wouldn't surprise me considering the thousands of people who left a close game marking the beginning of a new era because of a half hour delay.McPeachy wrote:

I (sort of) understand an emptying stadium in a 40pt blowout in a blizzard, but a close game in the beginning of the 4th qtr with rain drops? I'll be pissed about this for a decade, haha.

How many students did actually show up? The student section will always fill up because people get in there from other seats if there's room...BackHarlowRoad wrote:Is it possible that 1,400 tickets were sold but went unused? Actually, most people stayed after the first lighting delay. It was after the 2nd when fewer people showed up to watch the rest of the game. I know this is a weak excuse and shouldn't be considering these people are mostly from Wyoming, but many people weren't dressed for the 20 plus temperature decrease. Prepare for the elements Wyoming fans.BackHarlowRoad wrote:Is it possible that 1,400 tickets were sold but went unused? I think a lot of businesses in and around Wyo buys lot of tickets for their companies. I had a few such offers for tickets from friends of my Mother-in-law's friends....all after I bought a ticket myself on Friday. Needless to say, those tickets went unused.

it's not the only reason but is something we haven't seen in a RB for a while...

Sellout or 25k+, I'm damn impressed. That's more than CSU drew last year after a promising start and a close loss at Neb.
If we stay above 20k, I'll be happy. It's sub 20k that pisses me off, especially when there are no circumstances such as weather and closed roads that would drop it.
