Boise State (WAC) 19 Oregon (8) - 9/3/2009
Yeah, the Donks. They had a hell of a team, regardless of conference.

You have to go back many years to find Oregon poop their pants in the regular season to a *edit - meant to add "normal"* WAC or MWC team.

Well, we had a proven offense back then. And not just a player here or there. We have really good RBs and WRs, but the o-line is still a big fat question mark. Capt Kirk is better and more confident, and can take a hit, but not what I would call a star QB. He's solid and can make good decisions, but just not the dynamic QB. Plus, the spread offense back then was still a new scheme and very few teams had faced it, giving us an advantage there.
Actually, we didn't. The guy who started against Nebraska, never started another game as a QB. It was his only game at QB. However, it was the breaking out party for Marcus Harris...who had a very good game as either a freshman or sophomore.
We weren't in the spread in that game. The Pokes that year were pretty similar to what we have today. We probably had less of a chance to beat Nebraska going into that game than we do going into Eugene, yet we still had a real shot to win in the 4th quarter.

It's hard to imagine almost beating the best team in the country on the road with your backup QB. That's what toughness does for you. We'll play Oregon tough on Saturday.

Since 1981 to present, this is a list of teams from the WAC, and MWC that Oregon lost to:

1981 - Fresno St. and Air Force
1982 - San Jose St. and Fresno St.
1983 - San Jose St.
1988 - Hawaii
1989 - BYU
1990 - CSU
1991 - Utah
1992 - Hawaii
1994 - Hawaii and Utah
2003 - Utah
2006 - BYU
2008 - Boise St.
2009 - Boise St.
What is the difference between politicians and stoners? Politicians don't inhale...they just suck.

New Mexico 2010 is a more likely outcome than vs. BSU, '08 and '09.

In mentioning the WAC and MWC and "pants poop," I think the point was that Oregon sometimes loses to teams that are hugely inferior on paper. They don't (might have to go back to the putrid Indiana game -- the Arizona loss last year was bad, but Arizona had plenty of talent) -- not of late.

You had to go pretty far back there, cowgirlz. We have not "poop the bed" in a long time. In all of those games, we didn't have our current team, nor current coach, and certainly not our Heisman leading QB. In the AZ game, Mariota was hurt if you recall. We also don't "usually lose to stanford".
Since 2001, have beat stanford 9 out of 13 times. So, there's that.

"not our Heisman leading QB". What? Maybe before the season he was a leading candidate, but not since it started. I already told you guys that our QB has more completions this season than Mariota. And since you don't want to go back too many seasons for historical scores, then yes, your current team, with your current coach, does usually lose to Stanford. Counting the game coming up this year, it'll be three in a row.

Good call, but without the TOs, it would have been less.
You can tell how big a person is by what it takes to discourage him/her.
