They might. Not just UW, but the entire state (since it is the copyrighted symbol of both) may go after them, considering how strict they are about that.

Not going to lie, I like the detail steamboat better than the silhouette. But yes after the poop fit they threw against NM State someone should set them straight!

They could...although I'm curious if the symbol is different enough (arm down and back) that it would be allowable. I'm no expert on copyright law so I have no clue.

Not all that different though. Probably not enough if the state and school decide to do so.

I know there is an agreement about the Pistol Pete mascot, but Steamboat is the symbol of the school AND state. Should be sued.

If I'm not mistaken, the arm behind has already been challenged in other venues and deemed different enough. I don't have link, but I think I remember reading about it.
