I found this quite interesting, and think this would be great, if all schools followed suit, and made the commitment. This is quite the opposite direction from the way things are heading with semi-pro status, etc.

All conferences would need to do it. At least the big P5 conferences.
Want to see a power shift from the Big10 to the ACC? Have the Big10 not allow freshmen players and let the ACC allow them. It will shift overnight.

If you ever need to laugh, just remember there was some idiot who wanted Bohl fired after 2 seasons.

I agree Beav. It would certainly hinder recruiting if one conference did it and the others did not. On the plus side, this could be one of those moves that the SEC could do in an attempt to appear as if they actually care about the student aspect of student-athletes. It would be interesting to see if other conferences would go for it.

That is how it use to be back in the 70's wasn't until 72 when that rule was abolished in Football & Basketball.McPeachy wrote:I found this quite interesting, and think this would be great, if all schools followed suit, and made the commitment. Now that you mentioned that - I remember going to Sunday morning / afternoon freshman football games...specifically against the Air Force.Wyo2dal wrote:That is how it use to be back in the 70's wasn't until 72 when that rule was abolished in Football & Basketball.McPeachy wrote:I found this quite interesting, and think this would be great, if all schools followed suit, and made the commitment.
