Even though it was a loss, the 16-9 loss at Georgia in 98. We shut up GU fans real quick after they thought they would smoke us.
BGSU win 28-27 a few years back. Last game that my dad and I got to listen to before he died.

My most memorable in attendance have been:
1999: 31-17 win over BYU
2009: NM Bowl win over Fresno
2007: Utah beating is 50-0 (Birdgate was hilarious)
2011: Win over SDSU. Young Smitty was a riot to watch

Tough to think about some of the best games. I'd go with:

1. Wyoming at AFA in 1987. Best comeback ever and a great atmosphere. The Pokes were ranked and AFA was very good.

2. Snow Bowl at CSU in 1996. It was cold, but the game was great. Another comeback and I think the Pokes clinched the Mountain Division Title that day.

3. 1987 or 1988 vs UTEP. Pokes won going away to win the WAC title. It was a packed house on national tv and beautiful.

4. Vegas Bowl vs UCLA. Great comeback and win for a team that wasn't given much of a chance.

5. New Mexico bowl vs Fresno - see above.

Worst game:

1. 1997 at CU - for all the comeback wins the Pokes had, this one stung. Up by 10 points with 2 minutes to play and blow what should have been a victory at CU.

2. WAC Championship vs BYU - The Pokes blew this game with a safety and punt to give BYU the ball with time for them to score. The Pokes should have beat what many think is BYU's best team ever.

This one still stings. It was my introduction to disappointment as a Pokes fan.

That one was in 1988 at the Academy.
3. 1987 or 1988 vs UTEP. Pokes won going away to win the WAC title. It was a packed house on national tv and beautiful.
And this one was in 1988 in Laramie. CBS televised the game. First, and probably the ONLY, time UW won the conference crown at home.

Kind of fuzzy with some of those old football games. We started early for the AFA game....almost too drunk during. In fact, an F15 almost knocked me on my butt during the flyovers that day. I know both games happened during the two year undefeated conference run....just wasn't sure of the years.

Don't worry. I, however, have a 1988 UW media guide, a game program for the Utah game that year (UW Homecoming - I didn't go to the game but my aunt did)....AND I have a copy of the 1988 VHS highlight video, Rocky Mountain Thunder.

Cowboys 13
Arizona state 10
THE YEAR AFTER A STATE IS #2 in the final poll. In 1976 and Wyoming wins the WAC and a bid to the Fiesta bowl. THE POKES REAPPEAR IN THE TOP 20. losses Akers to Texas and to OU in the bowl game.
