Guy they want probably wont leave the team they are with this late. Sometimes you make do until who you want can join the team. Better to wait and make the right hireJ-Rod wrote:I hate this idea. Maybe they have a GA spot coach the WR's, so they don't end up with a short-term hasty hire? Then again, I bet #9 would come back home...if asked and we matched salaries.

Jovon Bouknight. One of our best receivers ever, who is currently working for USU as their receivers coach.Larawie wrote:Sorry, who's #9?McPeachy wrote:Not hiring somebody...hmm. Sadly, the kid is right. It's part of why Norm has been a poop head coach.
BTW, still pissed we lost to Hawaii.
I want CHAMPIONSHIPS not chicken poop! And we're getting chicken poop!!!!!!!!!!!
Who's he? He meanin' Norm Chow? CB isn't NC, and he doesn't just pull FT's and GA's out of his a**. Oh, and BTW, where do you think FT coaches start? Oh ya, AS GA'S!Wyokie wrote:He does.Larawie wrote:Obviously you don't know what a GA does.J-Rod wrote:I hate this idea. This is what Norm Chow's been doing at Hawaii. Was not only a great player at UW - I watched him absolutely torch SEC DB's for several years, he was a great person as well, and a solid leader.
Dear Karma,
I have a list of people you missed...

Still not sure we can get Boughknight. He is the passing game coordinator at USU and I'm sure is looking to become an OC somewhere so unless we can offer him at least the Passing game coordinator and as much money as USU I doubt he would come. NOt sure if our coaching staff would be willing to name him PGC here. He has a pretty good thing going at USU and has no connection to the Bohl regime. I do think we should try everything we can to get him but I don't think it will happen.
Fired or not fired?
Well, myself, I'll put my faith in Bohl. It's only been one year. I'll give a few years before I question what is happening with the coaching staff. If he did fire him, I'll give Bohl credit for letting Kenni keep some dignity. IF he didn't, it is what it is.
Just my $.02

I hope no NCAA attention from this. UNC screwed up big time which means a G5 school is about to get the death penalty for giving water to a recruit.

We believe he resigned. There's internal friction.lakesbison wrote:I know kenni I seen him & bohl interactions for a few years, you guys believe what you want. I guess it doesn't much matter since kenni is gone.
We may never know what happened to him but Bohl and he did not part on good terms. I believe there has been a lawsuit filed by Burns against Bohl/the Admin.lakesbison wrote:I know kenni I seen him & bohl interactions for a few years, you guys believe what you want. Saw this on Football Scoop a few minutes ago:
Wyoming: Wyoming announced late last week that they don’t plan to make an external hire (to fill receivers coach Kenni Burns’ role) until following this season. They didn’t announce this; but we have heard for the past week that Craig Bohl was expected to promote Gordie Haug (director of recruiting) to more of a coaching role for the season.
If Burns resigned I don't believe he can file a lawsuit.Slow Hand wrote:We may never know what happened to him but Bohl and he did not part on good terms. Good point....I never really put that much thought into it. I am not sure what the circumstances are surrounding his resignation (whether it was forced or a choice) but I can tell you that players are glad he is gone. He was a physco, with little, to no regard for any player. His coaching tactics were antiquated and ineffective to say the least. His relationships with the other coaches were strained and in some cases down right rude and unprofessional. Many of his players and a few of the coaches characterized his demeanor as bi-polar. Quite frankly I am glad he is gone....even this late in the game our receivers will be better off and dare I say, they will perform better than last year! Don't let the door hit you in the ass Sir Kenny.Larawie wrote:If Burns resigned I don't believe he can file a lawsuit.Slow Hand wrote:We may never know what happened to him but Bohl and he did not part on good terms. If anyone's interested in what happened to him, after taking the 2015 season off, Burns was hired by Western Michigan last year as RB coach, and has since followed Fleck to Minnesota in the same position.
