Eddie Yarbrough sat at a table in The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas in July, swiftly disposing question after question about his future in the NFL and his pursuit of records at Wyoming.
During Mountain West Media Days reporters searched for one unguarded response from him, looking for a single chink in the armor revealing his true thoughts.
But Yarbrough is an open book. With each answer, the Cowboys senior defensive end displayed the type of team-first attitude coaches yearn for.
One by one, with a wide smile on his face, he dispelled each and every thought that he cares about anything but wins and losses.
“I honestly have no idea what the next level holds for me,” he said, reciting the response time and again.
He keeps his focus on football, he said. Accolades are the furthest thing from his mind.
“Unless somebody tweets at me, I don’t even know about it,” Yarbrough said.
