Does anyone have a breakdown of scholarship players by class for this year and last year? (i.e. how many players in each class are on roster AND on scholarship from each year)

I wish there was a link to every years signing class and depth chart and stats. So you could better recall teams and groups of players era's. And see success rates of recruits (how long they stayed and lettered/started. By year and by state

I agree.
I thought someone would have this information. I was trying to figure out if we are full on schollies or sitting on some. If we are full, do we something like 40+ Freshmen, 20+ Sophomores, and the rest Junior and Senior? Do we have 20+ per class?
I was trying to put firm numbers on the "mess" Bohl inherited that everyone keeps citing.

That is what I'm trying to figure out, Jimmy. According to that, there were 44 players (or so) players signed by Bohl. Does that mean we still have 41 players signed by DC or are we sitting on scholarships or ????JimmyDimes wrote:This is a good source for recruiting.Coeur d' Alene wrote:I wish there was a link to every years signing class and depth chart and stats. I counted up the 2 deep roster based on class from the UW athletics website. The roster may be dated. Not sure if that helps or not but here is the breakdown. Doesn't include specialists.
True Freshman 9
Redshirt Fresman 11
Sophmores 8
Juniors 12
Seniors 6.
So on the 2 deep 29 or so are Bohl recruits including Coffman. 18 are DC recruits. But that is just assuming that all juniors and seniors - coffman are DC recruits. Obviously some of the somphmores could be DC recruits. Just didn't have the time to go through them all.

If only 18 are DC recruits and 44 or so (some redshirting now) are Bohl's, that would leave us quite a few schollies unfilled?
Sorry, I know I'm slow

Thats just the 2 deep. Not sure how many DC recruits are riding pine right now.ragtimejoe1 wrote:If only 18 are DC recruits and 44 or so (some redshirting now) are Bohl's, that would leave us quite a few schollies unfilled?

I'm assuming that we have quite a few upperclassmen on the pine?HR_Poke wrote:Thats just the 2 deep. The numbers just don't make sense to me. If we have 85 schollies and Bohl has only filled somewhere around 44, then there are over 40 left but only 18 upperclassmen playing.
It makes me wonder, are the upperclassmen really worse than true freshmen or are we sitting on some unfilled scholarships?

We are going to have some seriously unbalanced classses in 4 years with the amount of TF we have. No clue how many are on scholarship though.

I think that covers everyone on the current team. Walk-ons may not be listed, not sure.
In this news archive, you can go all the way back to 2004. Just Ctrl+F and search "recruiting"

That means 23 of those are not on scholarship. I'm assuming most of those 23 have to TF or RFR?HR_Poke wrote:I used my mad excel skills on the full roster and we have the following including specialists and walk-onsragtimejoe1 wrote:I'm assuming that we have quite a few upperclassmen on the pine?HR_Poke wrote:Thats just the 2 deep. The other interesting thing is that means we have 7 Sophomores, 10 Juniors, and 3 Seniors that either hurt or not good enough to be on the 2-deep. Is that right? Man, crazy if we have a lot of Juniors and Seniors sitting and couldn't beat out Freshmen or RFR.

Just over 20 in last years class. I think the walk-ons are just walk-ons, except for McKenna.HR_Poke wrote:I used my mad excel skills on the full roster and we have the following including specialists and walk-onsragtimejoe1 wrote:I'm assuming that we have quite a few upperclassmen on the pine?HR_Poke wrote:Thats just the 2 deep. I'm sure we do....all the guys who have left are now unfilled. Do you know if there is a limit on class size? Bohl needs to fill that limit this year.ragtimejoe1 wrote:So, do we have unfilled scholarships?JimmyDimes wrote: I went through the list of junior and seniors.....most of the seniors and/or juniors not playing are either hurt or aren't on scholarship.
NCAA Bylaw 15.5.6.1 limits FBS football programs to a total number of scholarships to 85 "counters" annually including 25 scholarships for "initial counters." Counters (NCAA Bylaw 15.02.3) are individuals who are receiving institutional financial aid that is countable against the aid limitations in a sport, initial counters (NCAA Bylaw 15.02.3.1) are individuals who are receiving countable financial aid in a sport for the first time. Bylaw 13.9.2.3 limits schools to signing 28 NLI from initial signing day through May 31.[1]
