Austin was a higher ranked recruit for football than he was for basketball. And, fills the gap left by Murphy's departure.

It sucks for basketball, but he never played a minute. And, his open scholarship would allow Edwards to maybe bring in a bigger pg.

You can tell how big a person is by what it takes to discourage him/her.
