I can't remember but does Wyoming have a signature food in the concessions? Or do we only have the capacity to boil hotdogs. I bring this up because the Penguins rolled out the HBK sandwich and I always remember seeing big ole philly cheeses etc at other places.

Concessions
Hey, give 'em a break. At that altitude water boils at a much lower temperature, so it hard to cook 'em that way. Broiling is the only way. But then they're ability to properly broil might be questioned.nirv117 wrote:I don't think there is a signature item. Also based on my experience I question their ability to properly boil a hot dog.

I've been testing different hot dog methods, boiling with a split hot dog in salted and oiled water is good, but after I like to quickly brown in a pan with Cayenne pepper.
We do need a signature item, like a Cowboy Cut beef sandwich.

This is what I was getting at. Have an item that just screams gluttony and something that people will crave. Make it part of the experience. Hell, the icecream at the Farson Merc is just Farrs I believe but people from all over must stop to get a giant cone. Make people salivate at the thought of consuming 3000 calories worth of pure greed while watching the pokes. Then add beer. You know the visiting fans are going to try said item. Food isn't even a thought to me when I'm at a game. I buy stuff because I'm hungry, so I go get a dog. Food is always part of an experience, especially while traveling. "How was the food at such abs such destination" is always a question people ask. But.....they'd need to upgrade concessions so they can actually cook some poop there. Hell, I don't think they can't even cook fries! Give me Poutine!carbonpoke wrote:I've been testing different hot dog methods, boiling with a split hot dog in salted and oiled water is good, but after I like to quickly brown in a pan with Cayenne pepper.

Bison burgers and bison Phillies would seem naturals. Also, bison brats...

Good start. Or a cowboy staple like pork and beans. You'll need a bread that could handle the sauce, loaded with all manners of pork and topped with beans from someone's grandmother's recipe. It'd probably cost you more than $14 but for a gut busting meal, who cares. Id rather get a quality meal than suck down a couple ball parksWyovanian wrote:Bison burgers and bison Phillies would seem naturals. Also, bison brats...

I agree that we need to get bison burgers/phillies somewhere at the War. When they upgrade the concessions area under the west side of the stands, it would be awesome to have a set up like the Helton Burger place at Coors Field.
A little more variety would be nice as all I can think of now at the stadium are the following:
Hot Dogs/Brats
Doc's Mexican Food
Papa Johns
Reheated Chic Fil A

Question on the thread:
Who is in "charge" of UW concessions? Who makes the decisions? Who profits?
Has always appeared to me, they do as little as possible to get the job done. No vision, no innovation, no training, no preparation, no balls.
