Do the best high school football players in the state of Wyoming play for the University of Wyoming or do they elect to play for schools in larger conferences? I would hope that the best players in Wyoming choose to play their college football at the University of Wyoming.

It depends on the year. Many years there are no high school players that are deemed good enough to play at the D-1 level, there will usually be several in-state walk-ons at UW however.
In other years, like 2 years ago, there are 1 or 2 highly touted in-state recruits. We have a bit of a mixed history with these. In the last 10-20 years, we've kept a few (Dawson, Wendling, Prosinksi) but we've also lost a few to other D-1 schools (Bartlett-Washington, Vomhoff-CSU, both Strattons-CSU, Bryan-Florida).
