This statement appears in the review of the book "Rise and Fall: The Origins, Science, and Evolution of the Jump Shot", that appears in this Sunday's Denver Post. I haven't read the book, but would be interested to see how much credit Kenny Sailors gets in it.

Technically, that is true. However, as has been stated by people such as Bobby Knight and Jud Heathcote what Kenny Sailors did was different from others at the time - and HIS was the prototypical modern jump shot. So, while no single person invented the jump shot, Sailors' version of the jump shot was what became THE jump shot.

regardless the fact, I'll still accept it as from what was said, NO one else was doing it, so that's where I'm going with it there
