IIRC Hank had a bad back injury he played through and as soon as it started to feel better he played better, that happened around the very end of the season. Hopefully JMac has something similar going on and he can get right. JMac is such an easy guy to cheer for.FarmerPoke wrote: ↑Thu Jan 26, 2017 11:30 amI really do feel bad for Jmac, I like him a lot, and love that he's a Wyoming kid, but man oh man he has fallen of the edge of the world during conference play. We've been seeing nothing but an empty downward spiral since conference play started. Was really hoping this team could make something happen but we're at least 1-2 years away from that.

In a recent Edwards interview he indicated James and Dalton have too many unforced turnovers
and gave the impression to be a starter you can't be doing that. He was ok with turnovers when trying to make a play and good defense takes it away though.

Problem is that they are the two best scorers. Unforced turnover or no scoring threat? I think I take my chances with scorers. After all, I do believe the object of the game is to outscore the opponent.

I guess Aka Gorski turning it over on the repeat means nothing.... I guess JMac doing everything wrong means nothing....
Coming of one off his best games ever, and all Edwards could talk about was JJs turnovers. It blew my damn mind. Who gives a poop about Kelleys empty minutes or JMacs abysmal play or Aka Gorskis inability to be consistent. No. Let's rag on a couple little things that James does and completely ignore that he wins us games... unbelievable

This further confirms my thinking about Edwards. Either JJ slept with his Edwards' wife or Edwards is retarded. Mind blowing. He doesn't even turn it over that much for how productive he is.
Not that there aren't things to get on Aka for but turnovers? He averages 1 a game and leads the team in A/TO ratio.ItSucksToBeACSURam wrote: ↑Wed Feb 08, 2017 8:09 amI guess Aka Gorski turning it over on the repeat means nothing.... I guess JMac doing everything wrong means nothing....
James and Dalton have been doing much better in my opinion in the unforced turnover department and have been getting more playing time because of it. This will continue I believe.

I cannot fathom that we, the fans, are more in tune with the performance of this team than the coaches are. Lets dive into these stats a little.
Turnover Per Game up to this point:
1. Dalton 2.6
2. James 2.3
3. Herndon 1.5
4. Adams 1.5
5. JMac 1.4
6. Liebs 1.3
7. Aka Gorski 1.0
8. Kelley 1.0
9. Moemeka 1.0
10. Naughton 0.7
11. Marshall 0.2
12. Barnes 0.2
13. Averbuck 0.0
Compared to....
Per 40 Minutes Scoring:
1. James 25.1
2. Dalton 19.6
3. Adams 19.3
4. Aka Gorski 14.5
5. Naughton 14.5
6. JMac 14.0
7. Herndon 13.5
8. Marshall 12.9
9. Moemeka 10.0
10. Barnes 9.5
11. Kelley 8.9
12. Liebs 8.1
13. Averbuck 5.7
How about...
Player Efficiency Rating (a super in depth per minute rating developed by John Hollinger at ESPN)
1. James 21.7
2. Dalton 21.4
3. Naughton 16.1
4. Moemeka 16.0
5. Herndon 14.6
6. Adams 13.6
7. Aka Gorski 12.5
8. Marshall 11.7
9. Barnes 10.2
10. JMac 10.1
11. Averbuck 8.1
12. Liebs 7.2
13. Kelley 6.1
There is no denying that the turnovers hurt. Absolutely. But good lord. JJ and Dalton more than make up for it and these stats show two things that immediately jump out TO ME.
1. James needs to play as close to 40 minutes as he possibly can.
2. Kelley and Liebs are the ones who should be under the microscope, not JJ and Dalton. (On that note, how poop to publicly out one of your players. I don't like that and I can't imagine JJ and the players appreciate their coach harping on them in the press.)
Liebs is a starter and averages 20.6 minutes per game and is in the bottom 3 in player efficiency and adjusted scoring per 40 minutes. He is also in the top half in turnovers (a stat which apparently is very important to Edwards).
Dalton and James are leading in Points Per 40, and Player Efficiency as well as top 3 in Total Rebounds, Blocks, and Steals (James leads the team in per minute steals and total steals). SO not only are they the leaders of this team on the offensive end, but they are making HUGE impacts on the defensive end of the floor. I don't get why those of us on this board see and understand this.... It boggles my mind....

You are correct on this. My bad. I was thinking he turned it over more than this, but looking at the stats he is absolutely the best we have at taking care of the ball. I already had a huge rant about this in the other statistics thread and so I won't say anything more since it's already been said. If the coaches want to continue to throw our best player under the bus there's nothing that can be said. Sad. Let's keep playing Jmac a million minutes a night tho while he continues to trend closer and closer to Barnes on the PPPMP charts that ItSucksToBeACSURam puts together. PRODUCTIVITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"midget duo", good stuff Lander. Really the only good metric on this entire thread. Give Edwards a chance to get his kids, and maybe we look at replacing jr Shyatt on bench.

Still don't understand why coach doesn't play Moemeka more minutes also. He hustles his ass off when he is in there and is athletic enough getting boards and playing defense. I know Naughton and Dalton and Herndon get most minutes down low but I would like to see Moemeka come in when Naughton isn't in there for defensive , rebounding and hustling purposes.ItSucksToBeACSURam wrote: ↑Thu Feb 09, 2017 11:35 am As of 02/09
