And took a helmet to the front of my knee just above the knee pad and it swelled like you wouldn’t believe but it was fine in a couple of days. I’m hoping that’s the result here.

It look more like he twisted it underneath him to me. He tore his PCL last fall, don't know if it was the same knee.
