Travel to Fresno Saturday. Play Fresno in Las Vegas on Wednesday.
Not exciting from a fan standpoint. Probably exciting for DuSell. Wyoming is #165 in NET ranking and Fresno is #211. While Fresno is a really bad team, it’s tough to beat any time twice in a row. If we lose one, I hope it’s at Fresno. At least we can then pull for a Wyoming upset over #1 seed Utah State and Max Agbonkpolo (out for year).

Fresno has lost 4 straight home games and has a worse NET ranking than other bad sub .500 teams such as the likes of Brown, Evansville, Penn, Iona, LMU, California Baptist, UIC, etc. I’d like to think we aren’t that terrible and that with all of our senior players that we could win there. But I’m not optimistic with Linder at all.

It's amazing to me that had we beat csewe last week, we would be tied with them in the conference standings today. I'm guessing we win in Fresno. They have beaten air force 2x and SJS 2x. It's a long way back to the Jerry Tarkanian days. We've lost to good teams but not the dregs of the conference. Can we beat them 3x in one year? Yeah, why not. But I suppose Linder's motivational skills will be put to the test.

I also hate playing them twice in a row. Silence the critics and beat them twice in a row!

Given our road woes the last several years, this could be revised to say "it's not located in Laramie, Wyoming."

I was wrong - Fresno is much worse than their terrible NET. Glad we poured it onto them! I’d have to think Fresno should come out really motivated Wednesday after their embarrassing loss at home (worst ever for Fresno in conference).

You're afraid of a team that didn't win 10 games this year and we just beat by 40 on their own court on senior night? Ok. If we show up and don't play terrible, we will beat them easily again. This is a horrible team that couldn't bother to show up on their own court. Even if they are motivated, what does it matter? They're awful.Itsux2beaewe wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 1:56 pmThis is my fear.OrediggerPoke wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 11:57 am I was wrong - Fresno is much worse than their terrible NET. I don't think this years basketball team can take that if for granted.....I've seen some head scratchers at the conference tournament. I Remember the 2017 team starting a tournament game down 25 to 0.bladerunnr wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 6:01 pm... If we show up and don't play terrible, we will beat them easily again. .....

I agree. This same team had to make a big comeback to beat Fresno at home by 1. I believe we will win but it should be a real contest. I don’t think we have much chance against Utah State but I’ll surely be rooting like crazy even if we decided to pass on attending the tourney this year.307bball wrote: ↑Mon Mar 11, 2024 6:56 amI don't think this years basketball team can take that if for granted.....I've seen some head scratchers at the conference tournament. Rumor is that Fresno’s coach (Hutson) has been advised that he is done after the MWCT. This could go 1 of 2 ways: (1) Fresno plays their hearts out; (2) Fresno just packs it in.

Kot had to hit a last second buzzer beater to beat them on our home court.bladerunnr wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 6:01 pmYou're afraid of a team that didn't win 10 games this year and we just beat by 40 on their own court on senior night? We have looked a lot better beginning with the second half of the UNLV game at home that went to OT. In my opinion, the last 2 weeks have been the best basketball the team has played all year. We are peaking at the right time. Will that peak be high enough to make a run in the MWC Tournament? We will find out very soon.

No poop. It was such a stretch to think we might not win on the road against a team that we barely beat at home. Then we get called "fans". sometimes people are, at times, brainless.Itsux2beaewe wrote: ↑Mon Mar 11, 2024 8:46 amKot had to hit a last second buzzer beater to beat them on our home court.bladerunnr wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 6:01 pm

I don’t care if it’s by 1 or 40, just win baby. Just win.
