You express concern for that yet you celebrate DC's AF rant with your signature...djm19 wrote:I see your point, but Nebraska and Ohio State aren't Wyoming. Those high profile coaches, schools and programs are in the media spotlight.
I am most worried about the collective whole, sum of the parts. Shakir, Patrick Martinez, Luke, Coach C's AF rant, etc. Eay to build a bad rep.
Martinez suspended indefinitely

1- I am surprised it isn't on Youtube somewhere
2- The signature is a joke. Not a celebration. WAAAAY over-analyzing it. I love Wyonation.com, but it isn't exactly the highest trafficked sports site like ESPN. And secondly, it is meant for a joke. The DC rant was childish and embarrassing.... but the Howdy doody part really was quite funny.

I don't find it embarrassing and the Howdy doody part along with the Rick Flair WOOOO is a all-time classic.djm19 wrote:1- I am surprised it isn't on Youtube somewhere

Two points:
1.) Seems that many are concerned about "thug" and Wyoming sports are going to be related on the national level. Maybe some of our fans need to remember the New Mexico "brawl" when we had "thugs" and "cornrows" and even a couple of comments that McClain recruited "thugs". Guess what I am saying is why should the national media look at us any differently than some of our own fans do? And in no way am I trying to say the New Mexico tiff on the court compares with what Martinez supposedly has done.
2.) I see this incident becoming the scapegoat for our possibly not performing well (or at least as well as some predicted before the season started (wow, 27 and 3). Frankly I see us as being pretty much where we were at the end of last season's OOC play and had expected us to be pretty much at that same spot with the lackluster OOC schedule we have been playing the past few years. I did think we would have a little improvement in play over last season, but after seeing San Diego St., New Mexico, UNLV, and even CSU play I don't see us doing much better than last conference season; I don't see us being able to handle some of their inside horses (Washington is going to need help IMHO and I really don't see us being able to double down on those teams). Boy would I love to be pleasantly surprised. We already saw the Martinez excuse with Boise St. -- how if Martinez had been playing we would have handled them. Might be true, but conversely Boise St. could say that if their number two scorer had not been suspended they would have buried us.
I do wish the best for Martinez. I made mistakes in my younger days (heck, still do on occasions but generally not as monumental as when I was younger).

I agree fights over when guys knocked out, however I believe context is important. Fair fight, u knock guy out, leave him alone. Guy tries to cheap shot u, friend knocks him out, maybe u want to kick him. Better yet (since Luke broke his hand) sounds like Luke was fighting soneone whom might have had a buddy jump in just to get knocked out by Cooke.

I do not by any means approve of what Martinez did. I am ashamed that he would do that let alone do that this season when they have done so well. If he did in fact do those things then there should be severe punishment for him. There is one thing that does seem strange though. Why did the "victims" leave the scene? Also, if the kid was KO'd, how did he manage to get up and leave the scene before the police arrived. For any of you not currently in Laramie there are always, or at least seems like, two cops in the downtown area near the buck at night waiting for calls at the bars or waiting to pick up underagers. Something about all of this does not seem to fit. Again regardless if he did these things he should be punished but it seems like there is more to the story and others who should be facing charges as well.

This whole thing about liking DCs rant and not liking the Luke thing...why is this an issue?
I loved the rant. That doesn't mean I hate UW. People see things in different ways, and I saw the rant as funny. No matter what people say about how I am wrong and that it hurts UW and all that, again, sorry. I don't see it that way.
But because I don't see it that way, that doesn't mean I think the Luke thing is okay.
Who cares if someones signature is Mr Howdy Doody.
Come on..

DC suspends Smith for losing control during the Nevada game and then he loses control after the game. It sets a really poor example for the players to see their head coach throw umpteen f bombs at the air force coach and then have to be physically pulled away. I don't see how you can like that?BeaverPoke wrote:This whole thing about liking DCs rant and not liking the Luke thing...why is this an issue?

I like cuz he reminded me of Randy Marsh for some reason. I liked it cuz the video started out with a hillarious f-word YOU! I liked the go to your press conference fly boy. The WHOO!!! The "Look at me I'm Mr. Howsy f-word Doody".
poop was funny lol.
And yeah it was not DC that suspended Brett Smith, he had a 2nd concussion...

WTF? Seriously bro? Why in the hell would you even mention the Lobos in comparison to kicking a defenseless man on the ground?djm19 wrote:kdwrightuwyo wrote:Washington is back after a few run ins...so long as there is no jail time, the school and Coach will work with the young man to make sure he is on the straight and narrow.

I hope you are right, but these shenanigans are making us look like the Lobos or the college version of the Portland Jailblazers back in the day.
Is it because Wyoming players have a tendency of stomping on people on the ground?
Skip to 2minute 30 seconds .... Dont be a deuche and talk about a rival in reference to your PG poor judgement.

Considering it was a lobo that started the fight when he threw an elbow at the Cowboy and then it escalated from there I don't see what you are trying to prove here.LoboNation wrote:WTF? Bunch of drama llamas in here. Luke to howdy doodygate to the Lobos... poop happens, Luke is done. Onward.

Probably referring to the Lobo FB team and some of the incidents that occurred in ABQ, not game related (McQueen, Bell, Solomon, etc.).

What he did was incredibly stupid and wrong, if the story we have now is correct. And unless we get alot of new info that changes the story then Luke is done for the Cowboys. I spent a while being upset and pissed about this but I'm over it. Time to move forward with the team we have. We still have a good team just a little shorter bench. Time to step up.
