  • Olympic Trials Come to an End for Wyoming Swimming
    The University of Wyoming swimming program's journey in the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials came to a close on Thursday night at the Qwest Center in Omaha, Neb. with the conclusion of the men's 200-meter breaststroke.

    Three swimmers with Wyoming ties competed in the 200-meter breaststroke.

  • Three Outgoing Cowgirl Senior Golfers Named All-American Scholars
    As announced on Wednesday by the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA), three University of Wyoming Cowgirl golfers have been named All-American Scholars for the 2007-08 season.

    The Cowgirl Golf program's entire departing senior class was recognized with this prestigious honor.

  • JayDee Luster Joins the Wyoming Basketball Family
    On Wednesday, University of Wyoming head basketball coach Heath Schroyer announced that JayDee Luster has signed a scholarship offer from the Cowboys and will transfer to UW from New Mexico State. Luster must sit out of competition during the 2008-09 season to satisfy NCAA transfer rules.
  • UW's Kate Burton to Compete in U.S. Olympic Trials
    Kate Burton, of the University of Wyoming track and field team, will be traveling this week to Eugene, Ore., to compete in the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials on Thursday, July 3rd, at 8 p.m. (M.T.) in the hammer throw.
  • Wyoming Swimming Opens 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials
    Through the first two days of the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials, three swimmers with Wyoming ties have made splashes in the water at the Qwest Center in Omaha, Neb. Current UW swimmers Alex Larkin and Lesley Young along with former Cowboy Scott Usher have all begun competition in the most prestigious American meet.
  • Wyoming Swimming To Be Well Represented at U.S. Olympic Trials
    In the biggest swimming meet since the 2004 Olympic Games, the University of Wyoming swimming team will be well represented as four athletes with Wyoming ties will compete in the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials this week at the Qwest Center in Omaha, Neb.
  • Cowgirl Tennis Adds Spencer for 2008-09
    University of Wyoming head tennis coach Krissy Hall today announced the signing of Ronnie Spencer to attend the University of Wyoming beginning in the fall of 2008.

    "We are very excited about Ronnie joining the Cowgirl Tennis Family," said Hall.

  • 54 Wyoming Student-Athletes Earn MWC's Top Academic Honor
    The Mountain West Conference office announced on Monday their 2007-08 Scholar-Athlete Award recipients. 54 University of Wyoming individuals received the highest academic honor bestowed by the Conference, highlighted by eight members of the Cowgirl Swimming and Diving program. The Cowgirl Basketball team was also well represented with six selections.
  • Wyoming Places 74 Student-Athletes on Spring 2008 Academic All-MWC Team
    As announced Thursday by the Mountain West Conference office, the University of Wyoming has had 74 individuals named Academic All-Conference for the spring 2008 semester.

    A total of 730 league student-athletes were named to the Spring 2008 Academic All-MWC team.

  • Cowboy Joe Club Announces the Hiring of Darrell Brooks as Development Officer
    The Cowboy Joe Club, the fund-raising organization for University of Wyoming Athletics, announced on Thursday the hiring of Darrell Brooks as Development Officer. Brooks comes to UW from the University of Arizona where, for the past two years, he was a graduate assistant with the U of A Alumni Letterwinners Association.
