Wyoming Beats Virginia, Utah State Next
WELCOME TO THE WAR, 7200 FT The University of Wyoming Cowboys faced the Virginia Cavaliers in front of a sellout (31,620) crowd at War Memorial Stadium on Saturday. Pokes fans from far and near gathered to watch the Cowboys absolutely dominate Virginia and beat them 23-3. The Cowboys were led by sophomore quarterback Karsten Sween who had a terrific day under center. Sween threw for 253 yards and a touchdown. Running the ball for the Cowboys was Devin Moore who ran for 125 yards and a touchdown. Arguably the biggest win for the Pokes in recent memory, they look to be contending for the Mountain West title this year. The Cowboys ran up 471 yards of total offense. Up next for the Cowboys is the WAC's Utah State. Utah State is fresh off of a loss to UNLV, 23-16 in Las Vegas. The Aggies are led by senior quarterback Leon Jackson. The Aggies figure to struggle this year, but you can bet that the Pokes won't be looking past them in anticipation of their matchup against Boise St.
