Utah Utes Slam Pokes, BYU Cougars Are Next WELCOME TO THE WAR, ELEVATION 7200 FEET Saturday proved to be a day to forget for the Wyoming Cowboys. They ran into a wrecking ball that is the Utah Utes. Joe Glenn guaranteed victory before Saturday's game, and found himself eating a little bit of crow afterwards. The Utes ran the score up to 50-0 before calling off the dogs. The Utes used everything in their playbook to make sure the Cowboys would leave Salt Lake City with a loss. From the "fumblerooski" to onside kicks the Utes did it all. Up 43-0, Utah tried on onside kick.. this prompted Cowboy Joe to flip his lid and give Kyle Whittingham the one finger salute, which was caught by the television camera. This was just the beginning of the frustration for the Cowboys. With losses in their four out of five games, the Cowboys are quickly slipping away into what started as a promising season. Karsten Sween has regressed in his sophomore season and was replaced by Ian Hetrick. The offense has been failing over the last few weeks which has led to grumblings in Laramie about offensive coordinator Billy Cockhill's future with the team. This Saturday the Cowboys will be at home to face off with the Brigham Young Cougars. The Cougars are led by quarterback Max Hall who has thrown for 2790, and 18 touchdowns. The Cougars also have a good weapon at running back Harvey Unga who has rushed for 799 yards this season. The Cougars balanced offensive attack has led them to a 7-2 record, and undefeated in the Mountain West, sitting at 5-0. The game will start at high noon inside of the War, and figures to be a well attended game due to Wyoming's long hatred for the Cougars.
