Cowboy Football Team Wins the UW Athletics SADDLE Cup Award for the 2007-08 Academic Year
The University of Wyoming Football team has won the SADDLE Cup award for the 2007-08 academic year. The SADDLE Cup is an annual competition held between all of the University of Wyoming Athletics teams. The winner of the SADDLE Cup is the team that acquires the most points by participating in a number of personal development exercises, academic workshops and community service projects throughout the year.

Cowboy and Cowgirl Harriers Open Season at Wyoming Invitational
An entire summer worth of training is about to pay off for the University of Wyoming Cross Country team as they tear up the Jacoby Golf Course on Friday, Aug. 29th, at the Wyoming Invitational. "Friday will be a nice kick-off to the season and a nice gauge to see where we are after an entire summer of training," said fifth year head cross country coach Randy Cole.

Wyoming Volleyball Set to Open Up Regular Season Play in Oregon
First year head coach Carrie Yerty and the Wyoming volleyball team will open up the 2008 season this weekend on the road at the Corvallis Invitational, Friday-Saturday, August 29-30 in Corvallis, Ore. They will start things off on Friday, August 29, against the Oregon State Beavers, and then will take on the Portland State Vikings and College of Charleston Cougars the following night.

Cowboy Football Head Coach Joe Glenn to Host Weekly Luncheons
Following each Wyoming Cowboy football game throughout the 2008 season, head coach Joe Glenn will host a weekly luncheon to interact with UW fans. The event begins on Tuesday, September 2 and continuing on each Monday through the rest of the season. The weekly luncheons will be held at the Laramie Hilton Garden Inn at high noon in the Garden Ballroom.

Wyoming Opens Home Schedule Hosting Ohio to Begin a Season of Historic Milestones
The 2008 college football season is upon us, and it will be a season that will see a number of historic games played in Wyoming's War Memorial Stadium. Saturday's game, for example, is the 999th in Wyoming Football history. The Cowboys have played 466 home games, 518 road games and 14 neutral-site games entering the 2008 college football season for a total of 998 games.

Wyoming to Participate in College Colors Day Celebration
The University of Wyoming is proud to participate in National College Colors Day 2008 to be held Friday, August 29, 2008. In conjunction with its season opener against the Ohio Bobcats on August 30th, UW is calling for its students, alumni, faculty and fans - wherever they may live - to kick off the national celebration of College Colors Day by wearing university merchandise.

Cowgirls Win in Home Opener Over Bryant University
The first home game for the Wyoming Cowgirls this season also gave the team their first victory of the season as they defeated Bryant University 3-1. Bryant jumped ahead of the Cowgirls early when freshman Kaitlyn Hinck scored on a pass from fellow freshman Brooke Duchaney, but Wyoming fought back and scored three unanswered goals.

Hall Resigns as Wyoming Women's Tennis Coach
University of Wyoming Athletics Director Tom Burman has announced that women's tennis coach Krissy Hall has resigned her position to become the head coach at the University of Alabama Birmingham. Hall recently completed her third season as the head coach of the women's tennis program.

The University of Wyoming Athletics Department, in conjunction with Pepsi, will be hosting a Back to School Bash in the Laramie Wal-Mart parking lot on Saturday, August 23 from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Shoppers of all ages are encouraged to stop by while completing their back to school shopping.

Cowgirls Lose First Game of 2008 to Western Michigan
The University of Wyoming Cowgirl Soccer team lost a tough road game on Friday morning as they fell to the Western Michigan Broncos 3-0 in Kalamazoo, Mich. The game was the first regular season game for both teams.

UW Athletics to Hold Fifth Quarter Post-Football Game Tailgating Parties
As fans enter War Memorial Stadium on August 30th to watch the Wyoming Cowboy Football team take on Ohio, they are going to notice a lot of changes and improvements. Among these improvements will be an experimental post-game tailgate party, referred to as the "5th Quarter."

Cowgirl Soccer Opens Regular Season Play This Friday
The preseason schedule has come to an end for the Wyoming Cowgirl soccer team, and the 2008 season will begin under new head coach Danny Sanchez starting this weekend. The Cowgirls will travel to Kalamazoo, Mich. to play Western Michigan on Friday.

'Pokes Complete Final Fall Scrimmage Prior to Season Opener
The second and final fall scrimmage for the Wyoming Cowboy football team saw improved play from the offense as they scored two touchdowns and converted four field goals, while the defense for the Cowboys continued to impress.

Wyoming's Final Scrimmage of Fall to be Held Wednesday, Aug. 20
With only 10 days remaining before its first game of the 2008 college football season, the Wyoming Cowboys will conduct their second and final scrimmage of fall practice on Wednesday, Aug. 20 at 5 p.m. in War Memorial Stadium.
