Re: Off-season: collective bargaining

For the lawsuit, we paid more as a percentage but waaay less total dollars than p4. Huh? I’m not following what you’re saying. The proposed settlement is for $2.7 billion in damages from 2016-present but the P5 to only cover 40% of that amount. It equates to more liability per school in the P5 but ...

Re: Off-season: collective bargaining

It is a terrible deal for the non-P4 conferences. They get hit with 60% of the damages even though realistically the vast majority of the damages are owed to players for the P4 conferences I am less than informed on how TV money gets currently split but I assume the vast majority of the TV/media re...

Re: Off-season: collective bargaining

So if I’m understanding your post, the P5 get revenue sharing of $20 million each school and the G5s FCS shoulder the burden? The damage claims in the lawsuits generally seek antitrust damages for the years of 2016-present asserting that the NCAA’s and conferences’ conduct restricted the players ma...

Whoa. Revenue sharing and unlimited scholarships!? I'm no Burman defender, lol, but this might simply be the least bad option he was facing. When a divorce is imminent, moving on as quickly as possible is best. It's possible Tech didn't want Linder bad enough to spend any more. If Burman stands his ground, Linder is a bad and now jaded coach roamin...

Did anyone see the emails between NIH's David Morens and Daszak from EcoHealth Alliance? Wow! These are the guys all you vaccine pumpers were telling us to trust. to Dr. Daszak, ‘I learned from our FOIA lady here how to make emails disappear after I am FOIA’d, but before the search starts. So I thin...

They're buying time to roll out someone like Michelle at the last minute. It's the hiden biden strategy again. Whoever they roll out won't have months of campaigning to screw it up.

Re: Jordan Nesbitt - Do You Agree with the Signing?

There is an upside. If Wicks can keep him out of trouble and he maximizes his potential, it will get good press and set a good tone for Wicks' future recruiting. Imagine if the kid makes NBA? I know, unlikely, but there could be some positives that come out of it. If it blows up, I guess wth, lost s...

Re: Off-season: collective bargaining

Relative to House lawsuit, Ncaa paying billions to athletes in next decade.
Big12 just approved that 20 mill revenue share starting on 2025. This is basically direct pay from AD to student athletes. So many questions.

This is getting interesting in a terrible way.

OrediggerPoke wrote: Thu Mar 28, 2024 10:39 am Svoboda is as talented as they come. He’s a generational physical talent; crazy we got 2 of those in a decade. I just hope we are able to develop a capable backup because I suspect we run him quite a bit ala Josh Allen.

The last time I was this high on the QB position was 2016/2017.

Re: How do you feel about the QB position

He'll be in nfl mini-camp this time next year. I know it’s the same old ridiculous schtick you’re stuck on. But to be clear there’s a zero percent chance of that. A guy who has had basically one year of playing time in college at a G5 isn’t leaving early for the NFL under any circumstance. There’s ...

Linder released a statement. Pretty vague.

But I agree with you that the University’s silence says a lot about what they felt about Linder’s actions.
On X none the less. Hilarious.

Re: 24-25 Roster

Do you even give out scholarships at this point? I can't imagine the portal or unsigned hs kids are deep with talent. I mean you have to field a team but you also know any scholarship you give out now is likely wasted. Maybe anyone with only 1 year eligibility? Tough spot.

Re: How do you feel about the QB position

That sounds like a classic Wyoming recruit. Not a big time recruit, but with the potential to develop over a couple of seasons He is. But any success he might have is now a double edged sword. The bummer being that if he has a good season with flashes of his elite athleticism, it’s pretty impossibl...

Re: How do you feel about the QB position

So like I said we're not at risk and have not been at risk for a money offer poaching. For literally every player, other than those playing their final year of eligibility, their NIL value can change at the end of next season. We're not at risk because he was named starter. The competition this spr...

Not buying that take. Had any of those made a back channel offer with big NIL he would have been gone. How come that acronym you use makes me think of a sandwich? Re: How do you feel about the QB position

Something that might be getting overlooked is how Svboda was recruited. He was like 3rd string on a JUCO team. If he hits, that's some seriously good scouting or just damn lucky. Despite his impressive total of 28 yards passing in JUCO ball, to be fair Wyoming scouted Svoboda out of high school. Th...
