If I'm not mistaken, our athletic department is already heavily subsidized by taxpayers and student fees at a greater percentage of the budget than our peers. I need to get time to put the real numbers to that statement. However, if true, it shows that fan contributions to NIL isn't likely since the...

This thread is wild. Aside from Burman retiring, I’d say the notion of firing him is downright lunacy. Bohl will be looked at as a great hire. Linder was a good hire too. We made the tournament and all the talk was about keeping him. Sure it ended badly but so does 99% of hires. A few retire on the...

Burmans continued time as AD will depend entirely on how Sawvel and who he hires to replace Linder work out. Womens sports coaches have all seemed to be pretty solid hires but the real money is in FB and Men's BB. We said that about DC, Bohl, Linder, Edwards, Schroyer, etc. etc. If some of those pr...

Peasley is smart, gutsy and tough but is unlikely to be more than a training camp arm at the next level. I do think he would make a great coach and hope that he catches on in some capacity if he intends to make a career in football. I just do not see him as having the playing talent needed. Tough k...

I guess he's not real excited about the 2024-25 team? Lol, didn't see that coming. Promising start then complete collapse. I wonder if there is a stipulation in his contact allowing him to leave for an assistant job without penalty? I know, I know, not his fault at all but man bball has struggled du...

Our cut from the new playoff is something like 1.3 mill/team growing to 1.8/team.
Cold hard truth is that likely nearly 100% of that value comes as being tied to p4. Without that tie and with the changes in cfb, I'll bet g5 value is really similar to fcs.

I wonder if the bowl system even survives and is functioning in 5 years. Honestly, at this point, a g5 playoff with home games for highest ranked and a destination championship might be a better alternative to our current bowl tie-ins. If bowl system does remain, AZ is one of the better bowls for th...

https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/sec-big-ten-developing-plan-to-share-revenue-with-players-in-potential-landmark-change-to-college-athletics/ I'm sure everyone saw this but if not, revenue sharing is happening. My guess is p4 split and g5 shares go to players. They'll have to come up...

The transfers are at positions coach said we are deficient in
I noticed that too. Makes you wonder if they were told they weren't good enough.
I guess we can't complain about the portal when good players leave

Weird, just heard a radio show discussing this. Prediction was revenue sharing will happen because pending lawsuits will ultimately force it. Assuming congress does nothing to title nine, then college athletics will likely shrink to 4-6 total sponsored sports. Men's bball + football then however ma...
