Re: We have a lot of players in the NFL - why haven't we had more success?

Agreed with others that we have never really had a 'complete' team. The year Wyoming had a bunch of offensive players make the NFL (2016), the defense was really young. The NFL talent on that 2016 defense were all freshman and sophomores in 2016. It would have been a lot of fun to watch the 2016 of...

Re: We have a lot of players in the NFL - why haven't we had more success?

I would also add that the impact of professional talent on a football roster is a lot smaller than in a sport like Basketball. What if you had 2-3 professional level players on a football roster and then doubled that the next year? You would probably do somewhat better but it would depend way more o...

Re: Spring Season: Do we get home games

This really sounds as if there is 0 appetite to try to get football going this fall.... https://themw.com/news/2020/9/8/general-update-on-the-status-of-mountain-west-sports.aspx Not surprising. If B1G starts by October, that leaves us and the PAC. If by then CFB is being played with only minor hicc...

Re: We have a lot of players in the NFL - why haven't we had more success?

Hmmm... Kind of hard to answer this without some sort of benchmark. I mean there has got to be some sort of correlation of pro talent with wins/losses.... Perhaps someone could come up with some sort of metric.... Like expected wins based on draft picks over any given three years.

Re: Nope, can't do it...

I think that the "conferences not making money" moniker is the key point. I really don't think that the CSU's, and UNLV's, and BSU's of the world are all that worried about COVID 19....I mean they will all say the right thing about not taking chances...but this came down to money. At the time of the...

Here is our new president's response to canceling the season: "With regard to the Mountain West Conference announcement to postpone fall athletics, I wanted to share some thoughts. UW Athletics is so important to the university and our state, and the Cowboys and Cowgirls were well prepared to move ...

Re: #MWUnited from the Mountain West Players

Do you think the liability waiver is a huge issue (I do)? I would think that if the liability waiver is absolved, then the student athlete also bears some responsibility. For example, if Joe Blow is out partying or not following guidelines and gets COVID. His "adventures" are clearly documented and...

Re: PAC 12 player demands

I get it; I do. However, you are watching the end of college of football. It will be interesting to see what happens. I think they shot for half in the hopes of getting a smaller fraction, but I'm betting most athletic programs can't operate on even a 25% reduction in revenues especially with the i...

Here's a stat I wouldn't have guessed, we ranked 32nd in 3rd down conversion percentage (.433). That is actually pretty good especially considering we didn't have much of a passing game. Fascinating...I was under the impression that 3rd down conversion percentage was held up as one of the stats tha...

I'm curious to see how much we lose on the defense due to our coaches being poached. Hopefully we're buckled in for the future and the defense is more a reflection of Bohl's coaching of our position coaches and coordinators, but it's definitely a wild card. Losing Logan Wilson will also hurt, but I...

Well these guys like our units individually. Must mean we have a good team! I'm excited for the season Seems that way....The overall MW power ranking from Athlon has Wyo at #2 ... I think the five teams behind BSU in that ranking could be defended as the second best as well. I feel like the gap tha...

I would have expected 7...maybe 6.5. The number that jumped to me is 8.5 for AFA!! Am I out to lunch..that seems like it a full game too high.

The State is running a $300 million dollar deficit. Let that sink in! if only the state were making serious efforts to diversify its economy with major investments in renewable energy resources, which are abundant in the state, instead of trying like heck to keep fossil fuels the driving force Rene...

At this point .... the way to suppress your numbers of confirmed COVID-19 cases is to stop testing or stop reporting the results. I hope the US numbers skyrocket...that will mean that widespread testing is finally here.

I watched the 2004 LV Bowl. Bouknight is the man. Been a while since we've had anyone like him. Maybe Gentry came close. What was up with our punter that game?? wtf
I was at that game...as I remember it, the wind was howling and we had to try and punt into it a few times.

For all you Tim Miles fans...simply put - no f##k[#] way would that be a good hire. He is CSewe scum, through and through. He was average at CSewe, and average at Knebraska - he would be average here. Eff him. Not for nothing...do we get to turn our noses up at average at this point? I don't think ...
