Walk-on RB Brenton to Transfer

Brenton is transferring to D2 Northern State. He has been a big contributor the past few years with injuries at RB. With the group coming back healthy and absent a scholarship, can’t blame him at all. Best of luck at Northern State to him!

Re: Nate Weinman

I’ll never fault an athlete that makes the decision to step away and focus on academics. Football will not pay the bills for the vast majority of players. I faced a similar decision many years ago (although I was athletically not even in the stratosphere of a D1 scholarship player). I chose academic...

He directly tied wanting to play at Wyoming to Josh Allen playing here https://twitter.com/CBecker247/status/1384963719545954305 Well at least we know he is 110% committed! Re: 2022 QB Commit - Caden Becker

Did northern Illinois get a new coaching staff? Or did Cade just decide to switch commitments just because Northern Illinois has basically the same staff that it has had since January 2019 when they hired Hammock as HC. I am a bit skeptical when a HS junior commits to a program so early and then sw...

2022 QB Commit - Caden Becker

Re: Andrews and Jensen to Return

Good news. I didn't know wrestlers got an extra year. Didn't they get an extra year last year too? No. Last year counted because only the NCAAs were cancelled. It's a bummer Montorie moved on with his life. We could have had him this year and next year! Hold on. Won't next year be the third year in...

Andrews and Jensen to Return

All of Wyoming's seniors (Brian Andrews and Jaron Jensen) have announced their intentions to return next year. Will be a deep team next year assuming no transfers out. Would love to see Wyoming land someone like Kyle Parco from Fresno for the lower weights too.

Looks like NCAA free agency is back again next year. Need to go back to sitting out for a year. https://theathletic.com/news/ncaa-expected-to-approve-one-time-transfer-rule-sources/z4VeShqu36oD It is here to stay. You can't put that cat back in the bag. Personally, I agree with it although it is ba...

Re: Spring Football Game Thoughts?

Anyone going? It'll be interesting to see who claims the 3rd string QB spot by fall. I certainly hope the QB injuries are not a problem, but lately, the 3rd string QB has been needed as backup. I guess not a trivial position battle as insurance in case something happens again this year. I'm also no...

Re: Marcus Williams in transfer portal

This is the new reality for college athletics. Good players will be recruited to go to the 'top schools.' As bladerunner indicates, once college athletes are able to secure their own marketing deals soon, the trend will only increase. It sucks for Wyoming but it is a reality that we have to deal wit...

Re: John Hoyland

Does that put two placekickers on scholarship? If so, that is not usual. The answer is yes and no. The Cornell graduate transfer Punter/Kicker Nick Null entered the transfer portal again and has left the team. The other scholarship player Ralph Fawaz is listed as both a kicker and a punter, and, wi...

Re: Vander Waal and Cox

But Cox left during the middle of the season rather than to simply stick it out, work hard to earn playing time and transfer at the end of the season. Plain and simple - he bailed on his teammates. Can't say I see much reason to follow him. Honestly, I think it is better for all parties involved fo...

Re: Vander Waal and Cox

Vander Waal has always been an FCS talent that is a competitor. Glad to see him find a home. Cox apparently left because him and his family was unhappy with his playing time and that Rocket was getting snaps over him. He is a MWC level receiver. Glad to see he also found a home. But Cox left during ...

You have to be careful posting the full article because of copyright issues. Fair use might be to include the article link and quote a paragraph or a few sentences from the article. But I am very happy to hear that Swen has returned. I was a bit doubtful when he opted out and with the logjam of expe...
