Re: The FBS Split is Near

No matter how remote the chance was, if your enjoyment of POKE football was the opportunity to play with the big dogs, your enjoyment is going to take a hit. It can still be fun and I will still support the POKES. For me as a fan, however, a lot will be lost when it happens. It sucks but it is what ...

Re: Let's be the first...

I would definitely rather be on Netflix or Hulu just because of access to more devices. However, anything to get more POKE action would be good. The opportunity to strike with Netflix might be good right now. Netflix is trying to do things to continue to expand. Breaking into live sporting events wo...

Re: Let's be the first...

As a newcomer to the program, where are most games streamed if not carried anywhere on ESPN? Is it a cable channel only, or can it be streamed online? This year all but 2 home games were picked up by ESPN (ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU/ESPN3). Thus, we would only be able to stream the MT and Fl. Atlantic games ...

Re: The FBS Split is Near

Good post. All too true.....scary times are ahead. If Wyoming cannot fulfill the stipend requirement, among others....Bohl can do whatever he wants, Wyoming is finished. At this level anyway..... Thanks. That's the scariest thing... it will be a quiet strangulation very few will see happening. We'l...

Isn't there a MWC app that streams these events that aren't owned by espn etc? ...put that app on netflix ....if not...why doesn't it? Smaller conferences have this.
I'm not sure, but if so, great idea.

Re: Let's be the first...

Except for the whole problem with existing MWC media agreements for football and basketball... But yes, it would be sweet to have a Wyo sports channel to feature other sports such as wrestling, volleyball and football/basketball games not otherwise picked up. This would be for games that aren't und...

Let's be the first...

Come on WYO Athletic Department, let's be the first college to make a deal with Netflix. I couldn't find exact amounts, but I've seen estimates that the cost to stream a movie for Netflix is somewhere around 5 cents. The biggest cost is licensing. If we invested in the cameras, web connections, etc....

Re: The FBS Split is Near

There is no reason for the P5 conferences to expand. They can break away and play by themselves for all I care. But not for a second to I believe Wyoming will be tosses aside while lets say a SDSU gets an invite. That isn't going to happen. Depends on the structure they will need. Who knows, maybe ...

Re: The FBS Split is Near

This is a dream come true for our current way of thinking. No longer do we even have to think about trying to keep up...we can just maintain the status quo and all will be fine at our lower competitive level. And when CSewe has moved on & up, UW fans can look back and say..."ah, what might...

Re: MW/IND draft board

I think Huff will go before the 7th but then again we haven't seen many articles on him or heard much media buzz from him the way Herron and Smith have been all over the media. Brett I think will go buy the 3rd round as well, I have heard anything from 2nd to 7th but I just don't think he will be t...

Re: The FBS Split is Near

If the Bohl era doesn't work out for Wyoming, and we pile 6 more mediocre years on top of what we've been for the past 18 years (which is mediocre at best) you can pretty much kiss even the fiction that Wyoming is a "FBS" school goodbye. The only thing I disagree with you about Cup, is th...

Re: If I were Coach Bohl....

The best part of this is they are not more talented on paper. They are more talented because of how they were developed and coached. IMO, the only positions NDSU has more talent is on the OLine and QB....I think we are very solid at RB and WR. Recruiting and talent evaluations are nothing more than...

Re: The FBS Split is Near

I think your title is correct. The end game is another division just like when the split happened before. Majority of Bowls aren't worth squat, so what is the motivation to hold the current structure together? None.

It actually looked like a few read options on the deep hand-offs. Some clutch plays on that drive.

It does look like the O needs about 4 seconds from snap to throw.

Semi-OT: Students push back against athlete unions

http://money.cnn.com/2014/04/23/pf/coll ... ?hpt=hp_t3" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Kind of interesting twist. What if this is rejected by the student body? Could students vote or have a say in disbanding sports at their University?

Re: Successful Pro-Style Os in CFB?

X's and O's are overrated. A team could win using the single wing offense if properly executed with good talent. I agree with that but different offenses rely on different strengths. The pro-style requires that your guys are more talented or skilled than the other guys. The spread is an attempt to ...

Pre-BCS. There are obviously lots of pro-style options in the history of CFB. I was wondering what Gang of 5 teams used it now. They are lower profile teams that we don't see on TV so it is a little more difficult to know what offense Gang of 5 teams run.

Re: Successful Pro-Style Os in CFB?

There definately aren't many and it is one of my questions with the new staff but there are some you could look at. SDSU under rocky long have been pretty successful and I would consider them Pro style. Boise during their hey day was maybe pro style, I think they considered themselves multiple but ...
