Re: False Starts
The coaching staff is definitely seeing these things, Lawpoke. The wide splits are an advantage in the spread offense, but the linemen have to get used to a different way of doing things. For example, with "standard" 6"-12" splits, the interior linemen form a brick wall up the m...

Re: Meet your new team, same as old team.
Glenn is one of the nicest guys around. I talked to him after he knew he'd get canned, and he said it was something the program had to do, and that he would have done the same if he was in their seat. I don't get why people try and act like he's a the biggest dickwad on earth when he gave this progr...

Re: False Starts
Very good insights 1016. Do you know how our current array of linemen/potential recruits rate in terms of your analysis? I think you are right - between a stationary brick wall and a nimble, smarter, disciplined but smaller guy...I'll take the latter. Especially when you have a QB that does pretty ...

Re: RB Recruit
This young man didn't have much money and wanted to come visit UW soooo bad that he bought a round trip bus ticket to Laramie from Vancouver, B.C. and rode that bus for long, long time to get to Laramie. I believe he got our attention with his play and our coaches had been talking to him on the pho...

Re: Interception
That a single play could've helped Wyoming upset the #16 team in the nation bodes pretty well for the future, though, no? Correct. It is (and has been) always pretty tough to be a UW football fan. Close to winning, is still losing. That's true - you don't get any respect for losing. But it sure bea...

Re: RB Recruit
The state of Canada?
Edit: I did watch a few videos of this guy a month or so ago. He seems able to both run around AND run over people. Definitely doesn't look slow, but then again, high school is high school, which makes it hard to truly judge talent level.

Re: False Starts
O line recruiting does not seem to be a priority - given the nature of our commits thus far. Does anyone know the conventional wisdom behind this part of the recruiting scheme? Do we have a stockpile that they think they can develop? Do they think that the current guys will get better with time? Ar...

Re: False Starts
I agree Peachy, our receivers HAVE to start getting some separation when ACS scrambles. They just look like they have no idea what to do. This has been a problem for a few years actually. The o-line and the penalties is just killing us! I understand and expect those penalties early in the season wi...

Re: Interception
We shouldve had a pic 6 to make it 17-3 n we would have had a comfortable lead IMO, if Kenny Browder makes that catch...he scores an easy TD, and UW win this game. Talk about game changing. Youth and lack of experience...second game in row it has cost the pokes a W. That a single play could've help...

Couldn't care less about basketball, but definitely hope we'll win the football game.
Good luck to the basketball teams either way, though

Re: I don't really care for moral victories...
Pathetic is all I can say. I don't know that I can honestly say I feel any better about our new offense. 1 first down in the second half with 5 minutes left to play is pathetic. Hey coach how about you try some shorter passes or screens when ACS is running for his life every play. Stop making him s...

Re: Thoughts on the game
I think this game is a good illustration that we need to be near perfect to beat some teams, and that DC almost has them there. The pick six chance could have won it, but Utah made more mistakes than we did and still found a way to win. Overall a good effort and we should feel good about our chance...

Re: False Starts
O-line is pathetic. False starts on every critical play of the last two games. If the other team rushes more then 4, someone almost always goes through untouched. Agreed. One positive thing... once ACS matures a bit, he'll be able to spot the blitzes well enough to run for sizable gains a lot of th...

Re: I don't really care for moral victories...
However, given our recent history on the road, and particularly with Utah - I can honestly say I am surprised. If a couple of plays go the other way, the Pokes could have pulled it off. Given the fact that we are playing umpteen freshmen - which indicates a little bit about DC's recruiting prowess ...

False Starts
I think it's safe to say that False Starts once again killed our offense big time. How many times did we have 3 and 1 and 3 and 2 ending with false starts? Wow. I thought I'd be happy after this game, but I'm actually very disappointed in how easily they got our o-line to make huge mistakes. The sad...

Re: Interception
Speaking of interception, Benjamin missed an easy catch and popped the ball straight to the Utah cornerback. That killed the upset bid. Oh well. I guess the game is still alive as the Wyoming defense stepped up BIG time. Wow. One thing I'd like to see more of - Utah's bringing the pressure, but ACS ...

Re: Benjamin to Carta-Samuels!
ACS has looked good everywhere so far. Those three easy dropped passes means he should be 12/13 on his passes so far. Sure they've all been short, but that really doesn't matter as long as you're moving the ball and getting first downs. This offense should be AWESOME when we get a few quick and sure...

Re: Receivers
Leonard dropping two passes was a shocker. Of all the things that could go wrong, though, I'm glad it's been a couple of fairly minor things like that, looking at the whole picture. We have two quarterbacks who are good receivers, now that's a plus

Re: Wyoming vs. Utah Internet TV Stream
I'm going to enjoy this lead for the full half time. Regardless of whether Utah comes back in this game or not, we've shown that we can play with the "big boys." Benjamin's showing that he can both catch the ball and pass it, and ACS running down the sideline was beautiful. This game is no...

Re: Keys to the Game
4. Don't be content with just forcing fumbles. Recover the ball as well! I think we've forced 14 or 15 fumbles so far, and only recovered 4 of them? Imagine what our turnover margin COULD have been. 5. In addition to trying to win the turnover battle, make the turnovers count. There's not much that ...
