Re: Bohl in Casper Article

From what the NDSU folks have been saying, Bohl will more than likely close practices to the public. Pretty much par for the course in D1 FBS football nowadays.

Re: It looks like Laramie population 50,000 is quite feasibl

I doubt Wyoming has much say in what the US census releases. Those numbers are quite accurate as of the 2010 census, obviously it has changed some since then.

Re: Bret Bielema wants to change college football

While I am a fan of old-school, run it down your throat, power football, I do like the variety of offenses that college football provides. And I agree that this is basically a "we can't stop it, so make it illegal" tactic. This would be the same as if Oregon lobbied for a rule to make the ...

Re: The Fieldhouse

Indoor track and field use it daily for practice, otherwise that wouldn't be a bad idea. Not to diss indoor track, but I'm pretty sure hockey would generate far more fan interest and revenue. Very true, I definitely agree with you...but losing indoor track would essentially kill outdoor and thus wo...

Re: Why recruiting stars mostly means nothing

IMO the big difference in recruiting stars lies in the 0-3 star group. There are plenty of 0 star guys that are deserving of 2 or even 3 stars. Plenty of 2 that deserve 3+ (I.E. Brett Smith). But where the rankings seem to hold true (generally) is in the 4 and 5-star recruits. These players are gene...

Re: UNLV T&M renovations article

You could probably host a lot of stuff on the weekends out of season. Teams aren't going to be on the court Sat/Sun out of season, but if they need to, the MPG would work fine. That gives you all weekend to host time-intensive events like rodeo, supercross, large concerts, etc. And small concerts, p...

Re: Signing Day Tweets Including Bohl's Comments

I would assume that if you look at a similar rundown for all of Alabama's signees, you will see a lot of the same terminology. Maybe one or two with something along the lines of "looks to make an immediate impact", but just like most programs, every recruit is just potential that needs to ...

Re: Cowboy Altitude: 2014 Signees

I'm very skeptical. Supposedly runs a 4.34 but his shuttle is just a 4.24? And only manged 724 yards rushing. Actually, a 4.24 shuttle is pretty fast. That time would have beat out 8 CB's that got invited to the NFL combine last year, and would have been 8th out of all the RBs, including faster tha...

Kinda OT: Severn new Head at Central

This probably belongs more in the Prep Sports board, but former Wyo Cowboy Drew Severn was tabbed as the new head coach at Cheyenne Central. Worked with him several times over the last few years, Drew is a very down to earth guy, I hope he does well. http://www.wyosports.net/high_school/cheyenne_cen...

So we share enough with those guys (nickname, Pistol Pete, etc.), I don't want a helmet that's a carbon copy. Instead of people saying "wow, sweet helmet", they'll say "oh they ripped off OSU's logo".

Re: My football helmet arrived!

That white pistol pete helmet is awesome! We definitely should break that out for a game! (despite the protests of those that believe we should wear only the one uniform we wore during the 1960s and that it would be sacrilegious to not wear Steamboat on the helmet for a single game) I do like it, b...

Re: WYO Commits With Other FBS Offers

So we all know the star rating is poop, and the Super Bowl kind of proved it. There was something like 47 players in the superbowl that were 2 stars or unranked coming out of highschool. But we at lil ole Wyoming have known that for a while. Our biggest problem for the past 10 years has been recrui...
