I'm very excited for this hire and hope it turns out well. PhD in astrophysics...some faculty members typically love to tell how they are smarter than the President (will be difficult with this one).

Awesome. Welcome, to UW. Sounds like he has experience in finance, too. I hope he sees the value in athletics!!!!!!!

All that baloney is well and good. But the pressing issue is what is he going to do about Burman and Edwards.?

A good university president understands that athletics (specifically football & basketball) are the front porch of the university. Let's hope he understands that.

I haven't looked real closely at his employment history, but hopefully he was at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign during the years they were nationally relevant in basketball and noted the benefits of those years for the school compared to when they are not.

I also hope he has the guts and backbone to stand up to Boise State.
