Fortunate for us that those two good receivers of theirs are injured. Really helps us in the short field situation.

That’s not a catch. Last angle shows it slipping down and the ground pushes it up. Seriously, check it out.

Not that it matters now but it looks like a catch from all angles but that last one

Meh... Better team won today. I suspect the threat of Chambers running would have really opened up the run game for X... We'll never know... Now we get to focus on a style with some more passing

It was PI first and should have been called that. Part of me wonders if that is why they didn't call the int.

My take -- Crow letting two punts each roll for 70+ yards sealed the outcome for Nevada.

I disagree. Hearn put his arm across his body like you would guarding in basketball. Second, they didn’t call PIs that close all night. One is objective and the other isn’t so much. That was a pick.

It seems obvious, but if a ball doesn't touch the ground and if neither player goes out of bounds then it is either a catch or a pick (it can't be neither). The only decision that should have been available was did the receiver establish possession before Hearn ended up with the ball. The ultimate decision was clearly wrong because it was not a possibility.

Agreed they weren't calling PI very aggressively. Personally, I thought that one was a little worse than others, but I'd have to go back and watch. I'm not sure if we'll see many teams with receivers like NV, but, if our secondary continues to play like that, we'll have lots of PI calls. If they are going to have that much contact, they need to get their heads turned around. Lots of PI noncalls in that game. I prefer it that way, but not many officiating groups will let teams play with that much pre-ball contact.
