I agree, thanks to the new NCAA rule:

"Even more specifically, the NCAA's transfer rules. A couple of months ago, it appeared that the NCAA was set to begin a new policy in the 2020-21 school year. The change would be simple. All undergraduate transfers would be allowed to transfer once without sitting a year."

We should have beat Csu and Nevada and we scored enough points to win both of those games.

I'm not saying Vigen isn't responsible. He is. So are the 6 players that decided not to play this year and let our scout team d line play major reps.

That defense wasn't very good this year. I dont care what the stats say.
The defense gave up 342 yards to CSU. While not stellar, that's still not terrible in a rivalry game, especially with the way their first time on the field started on our 29 yard line and already down 7-0 from the Interception return.

Nevada just owned us, but that game knocked our whole team out early, and it took forever before somebody showed some leadership and got them back in gear. Nevada also looked like a semi-decent team until they decided to do what a lot of teams do when visiting Hawai'i and forgot to focus on football. Not saying they're world beaters, but at least they also beat SDSU.

Stats certainly don’t tell the whole story but they do tell a story. Statistically we had the 19th best defense in the country, 81st in offense, 114th passing offense. We played bad teams but those bad teams were bad on both sides of the ball. Did defense play great against Nevada or CSU? No. Should we pretend like defense is anywhere near the problem of the offense? Absolutely not

This is the correct opinion.

I’d say the D really only failed us in the Nevada game. They played well enough to win the other games. Considering the opt outs and injuries I’d put them in a Net positive category where the offense was a net negative.

It could just as easy be that a good chunk of the team packed it in the last two games. There really wasn’t much to play for except real game reps.

csewe qb Pat O'brien has entered the transfer portal. Think he'd come here? Kid has an arm and can throw the deep ball with accuracy.
