Dusell is a 6'4" 190 lbs shooting guard from Gilbert, AZ. A three-star Rivals recruit. He chose UNC over UTEP, New Mexico, Montana, Northern Arizona, UW-Milwaukee and Idaho State.

From the UNC site:

"We're really excited about the signing of Xavier DuSell. Xavier has a chance to be a really special player in our program and we believe he can have an immediate impact for us," head coach Jeff Linder said. "Xavier is a multi-dimensional guard with great size and can play multiple positions. What he does at an elite level is shoot the basketball. Xavier has a quick release with unlimited range, and he puts pressure on the defense as soon as the possession begins. More importantly, Xavier is a great kid, a great student, and he brings a winning attitude and personality to the court on a daily basis.

Arizona Hoop Review Scouting Report:

DuSell is a special talent - possessing excellent size and versatility as a player. DuSell is capable of playing several perimeter positions on the floor, while having a strong handle of the basketball and a nice perimeter shooting stroke with unlimited range and a quick release. He is difficult to defend as a result of his shooting prowess, which he is able to get off almost at will. He is also able to make plays for himself or others off the dribble, and has a good overall feel for the game. I would like to see him be able to post up more, which will make it even more difficult for smaller defenders to guard him. Currently, he likes to score from the perimeter, where he is much more comfortable at this stage in his young career. He is a good passer with a nice overall feel for the game, and has very good versatility as a player. A good ball handler. He is a good rebounder and finisher in the lane. A solid defender. Has a very bright future ahead of him, as he can be a specialist also. One of the best shooters of the basketball in the West, and one of the top overall sleeper prospects in the West as well.

Looks like a decent pick up. I’ll trust Linder. I do hope we can recruit some guys that would be more at a higher level than what would go to UNC.

I know they did beat us the last 3 years but that is because we were so bad. We will need better recruits to compete at a high level in the MWC than you will get at UNC.

Linder did recruit Damian Lillard so I guess I should not complain lol.....

This kid did get offers it looks like to Utep and New Mexico, so a pretty good get for us. Excited to see what big guys he can get here.

“I think he definitely builds confidence in his players, and I feel like he makes it a player-coached team where he kind of trusts us to kind of run the ship a little bit,” Dusell said. “Play through mistakes, play fast, get up a lot of 3s and play in some ways that maybe other coaches kind of don’t like playing like...."

I think he might do us well, if he can handle winter in Laramie being from Phoenix

He looks great.

Nice range and form on the jumper!
Strong upside off the dribble and defensively.

One to watch. Could get buckets!
