First off, my family has been affected by this virus. I know it's real, I know it's serious, and it hasn't gone away.
That being said, this whole football and basketball situation cuts against the grain of Wyoming's ethical foundation. What are we if not resilient and courageous? How do we back up our motto if we back down now? How do we reinforce our recruitments that we are what we say we are.
Cowboy Tough is our brand, our heartbeat... And we shouldn't sit this out.
We are what we say we are... And if our actions don't back that up???
We are fraudulent, fake, and gimmicky.
It takes a brass set of nuts to do what needs to be done, pretty sure what our past leadership would have done.
Live or die by your handshake.
Covid Cowboy Tough

That said, liability is a bitch.

Here's the deal Wyoming faithful, our state needs to provide healthcare for our athletes. It's the ONLY option. So....
We need a financial donation probably in the 5 million dollar range set aside to get this thing rolling. Donors could help with this.

What if we did a one year contract with an insurance company where we gave them a portion of our TV revenue to help cut cost?

Cowboy tough isn't just about gritting it out when the going is tough. It's not a suicide mission. Cowboy tough is also knowing when to put down your pistol and live to fight another day.

I was part of the 82nd brotherhood for 6 years, three of which were combat. If u don't think that our government doesn't have a plan to send a quick reaction force to whatever butthole of the earth at this very moment, u r gravely mistaking. We have to work through this. Is not about money, it's not about fear.
Ultimately it's about formulating a plan, and following through. That's how America works... We do poop, we complete stuff that others won't. We shoot for the moon at our own expense, openly challenge the status quo.
Sitting this out while the sec, acc, big whatever... They r financially obligated to figure this out.
Wyoming could survive sitting on its ass... That's not us.
We should throw our name in the bucket and stand tall. It's who we are.

What in the actual f-word is this? What part of this is cowboy tough? The survival rate for Roma is turning out pretty close to the flu, the suicides are from the cowardly economic shutdowns and the lives it destroyed. Herd immunity and seasonality are showing signs in Sweden and New Orleans, time to open up this world and start living in it. Explore options to say we are cowboy tough, what you describe is absolutely cowardiceWestWYOPoke wrote: ↑Wed Aug 19, 2020 11:04 pm Cowboy tough isn't just about gritting it out when the going is tough. My comment wasn't referring to Covid specific cases, it was referring to the decision by the conference. Yes, Wyo could have put up a fight, ruffled a lot of feathers, pissed off a lot of other people/schools, and still would have ended up exactly where we are now. OR they could do what they did, voice their disagreement but cede that it is what it is and live to fight another day.Wyoklaelk wrote: ↑Thu Aug 20, 2020 6:05 amWhat in the actual [#]f##k is this?
