I’m just going to pretend we didn’t just squeak by a freaking fcs team by the skin of our teeth and focus on some good things.
Muma is amazing. Sure fire draft pick. Couldn’t believe how high he got up to block that kick. He hits like a ton of bricks and is everywhere
Gandy had a good game. He laid out their qb and rb a few times. Missed a tackle or two, but overall had a nice game.
Sean had a nice 4th qtr. delivered a couple real nice balls. More of that please.
It really seems we have better talent at receiver and TE. Let’s get some creativity and get them the ball.
Our punter is good! Our kicker is too
Attendance was great. Weather was nice . That’s all I have
Some positives

Sure, not really pretty. But a win is a win. And quite a few FCS teams put up a good show against FBS teams this weekend.
UC Davis beat Tulsa
Eastern Tenn. clobbered Vanderbilt
Eastern Wash. beat UNLV
South Dakota lost to Kansas by 3 17-14
South Dakota State beat the crap out of CSU (Yay!!!)
Northern Iowa barely lost (16-10) to highly ranked Iowa State
Montana beat Washington
and there's probably more....
All of the hand wringing is premature, to say the least. Let's wait and see what happens these coming two weeks.

Good points. I would like to make a recommendation to whoever manages concessions. Please send some kids through the stands selling beer and soda - and maybe even popcorn. It would take some pressure off the long concession lines. Other than that, it's all good. Hope we have more crowds like that.LanderPoke wrote: ↑Sun Sep 05, 2021 8:34 am I’m just going to pretend we didn’t just squeak by a freaking fcs team by the skin of our teeth and focus on some good things.

We won. Ugly or not, a W is a W.
Our passing game did look better late in the game. Better than it had in some time. Pass protection though, that still needs to be worked out.
When given a chance, our RBs remain a real threat.
Defense had to shake off some rust, but overall, about where I expected them. Nothing big to complain about. And Muma being there makes it all the better.
Special Teams, especially kicking/punting, aces all the way.

The defense is going to be fine again at the very worst. Hung out to dry on the first possession with poor field position. We were laying the wood even harder than good defenses in past years.

We completed passes to 8 different guys yesterday. Can't remember the last time that happened. We just might have some dangerous playmakers, if we have QB's that can hit them wide open streaking down the sideline. If Chambers hits that throw to Alex Brown he's at 16 completions for 250 yards and 2 touchdowns. We can win a lot of games with that statline. We just have to have the gimmie touchdowns because without them we manage to make offensive football look very difficult.

According to Bohl today we escaped mostly injury free, so that's a positive heading into next week!

We get Hearn back to start the game because his targeting call was in the 1st half.
