The money will be distributed over 5 years. If schools like Memphis are paying athletes $5 Million a year from one deal, we are likely to be left far behind.

In the next round of realignment, we won't be far behind the teams we are in unless the penalties force a situation where we end up in the pac.
We can wish. Taco John’s is still a fairly small company. Their gross revenue in 2023 was somewhere around $110 million. Not chump change, but when you compare it to the $90.2 BILLION in revenue that FedEx had last year…not sure Taco John’s could afford it.

Agreed, we need other "players" - like Union Pacific, or maybe some out of the box thinking (I know, I know) like a tourist tax of 2%+ that goes to the University for all programs, not just athletics, collected via VRBO, Hotel/Motel, etc. - and maybe a out of state user tax on our state parks (Glendo, Gowdy, Buffalo Bill, Guernsey, etc.)TheRealUW wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2024 10:35 amWe can wish. Taco John's is no longer headquartered in Wyoming either.
