"I never saw a buckin' hoss to top Steamboat. Fact is, he was the closest thing to perpetual motion that ever wore hair. Few men could stand that kind of battering without bleeding from the nose, and most became nauseated as well. Ol' Steamboat put some of the toughest into the hospital for repairs."

Even though we always chanted "fat guy in a little sweater", I always enjoyed when he came up to Laramie. Rest in peace! He was one of the good ones.

Majerus was one of the few coaches on a hated team that I respected. He did a lot for our conference and for basketball as a whole. I really enjoyed him as an announcer after he retired. Sad day indeed

Great coach. His teams were always a joy to watch. You knew that he was a good one when one of your marquee wins (if you managed to get it) was against his team.

RIP, Rick. Hopefully heaven has a sweater shop.

It was great fun to listen to him talk. He was once asked if he was dating or had a girl friend. I will never forget his response, " I couldn't get laid in women's prison with a handful of pardons". He was the best thing that ever happened to Utah. Sorry to hear of his passing.

I was in St. Louis at the time of his passing. He was definitely loved there. He had a standing O at the Rams game, A moment of silence and a standing O at the SLU game, Not one fan sat back down the entire game.
He was one of the best.
