We cannot play 40 minutes of ball. 11-2 will turn into into 16-14 by March 7th. We may escape the pigtail game.
Sweet post. Hell, I think I'll completely quit watching any of the games from here on out since it's a foregone conclusion that we will finish 16-14. I'm not asking you to expect the Pokes to be a final four team. Just save your poop until we actually lose a few games. Then you are more than welcome to come on here and say "I told you so". I don't know about everyone else, but a lot of the posters I see remind me a whole lot of those end of the world preaching freaks on the streets. I don't give a damn what the hell you think is going to happen and I don't want to hear about it until it actually does happen.
P.S. The Pokes won't win another game this season.

I'm not too sure some of these jokers are even Wyoming fans. They might be ewes, bywho, or utard fans posing as UW fans.

It is called freedom of speech. It is called frustration. Perhaps it has been too many years since 2002 and too many football team starts at 4-1 finishing at 5-7. It is easy to become cynical.TheRealUW wrote:Sweet post. Hell, I think I'll completely quit watching any of the games from here on out since it's a foregone conclusion that we will finish 16-14. You post your opinion and I post mine.
Let's say we do not beat USU tonight. We are 11-3 to end OOC play. 16-14 allows for a 5-11 conference record. Who do we beat on the road? Do we win all 8 home games?
Ok - Maybe 18-12. I am thinking we win 6 at home and 1 on the road. That means we go 7-9 in conference play.
P.S. We finish the season at 28-2!

You really think we go 5 & 12 in the last 17? Let me write this out to see...PorkerPoke wrote:We cannot play 40 minutes of ball. 11-2 will turn into into 16-14 by March 7th. We may escape the pigtail game.
12/31 at Tard State = Win
1/03 at Utard = Win
1/14 vs. SDSU = Win
1/17 at UNLV = Loss
1/21 at TCU = Win
1/24 vs. CSewe = Win
1/27 vs. AFA = Win
1/31 at bWHYu = Loss
2/03 at NM = Loss
2/07 vs. Utard = Win
2/14 at SDSU = Loss
2/18 vs. UNLV = Loss
2/21 vs. TCU = Win
2/25 at CSewe = Win
2/28 at AFA = Win
3/04 vs. BwhyU = Loss
3/07 vs. NM = Loss
I am going with 21 & 9, and an NIT bid. That's my dime.

Reasonable analysis, McPeachy. But I see a split, at best, with Utah, AFA, and TCU. If Dermody returns by February, thing might be better on the defensive end (how could they be worse), but I doubt that he could help in scoring (too long a lay-off)

I am not sure we will see Dermody play at all this year. Heard a medical may be in the works.Adv8RU12 wrote:Reasonable analysis, McPeachy. But I see a split, at best, with Utah, AFA, and TCU. Forgot to mention -- Very little chance Pokes pull out win at Utah State. Why? Poor defense. Utah State is the second leading team in the country in field goal percentage. There is a reason USU is 11-1. Pokes are obviously deficient in defense. Maybe if Pokes hit 60% they will do OK. Don't count on it.

Agree 100%, unfortunately. We've played 3 decent teams and lost all 3. boise, utah state, ucla. Don't like what I'm seeing... This team will not win many conference games. They don't know how to win consistently yet. I think we'll see a ton of close losses as well as some ugly ones.PorkerPoke wrote:We cannot play 40 minutes of ball. 11-2 will turn into into 16-14 by March 7th. We may escape the pigtail game.

We may have come up short last night, but that was a hell of an effort. I may not be 100% correct, but I think I saw that no one had even taken Utah State to OT or beat them in their house for the last 10 years. We lost because we didn't play smart at the end of the game, but I'll still take Schroyer and the Cowboys to win our share this season - this team is still maturing.

The Utah State game actually impressed me more than any other game this year. If we can build off that game and continue to improve, we could have a very solid conference season. The MWC has had some big wins recently and good teams at the top, so it will be a tough conference. But I think 9-7, 8-8 are very possible...and if we get hot come tournament time, then good things are possible (as long as we dont draw unlv).
