Boise State firing Avalos today.

Thought he'd at least get to finish the season/potential bowl, but they're not screwing around. They're canning him the day after beating down UNM 42-14.

This is actually the "smallest" firing of the day, but I suppose most relevant to us. Lol.

Edit: I'm hearing they fired him early because he's completely lost the locker room, and they're also worried about Early Signing Day.

And to think they could still make the championship game and are firing the coach. We have no chance of making it and very well may retain our coach

In addition to Avalos and Jimbo Fisher...

A ranked Penn State also just fired their OC. As a Wyoming fan, I wasn't aware you could do that. :P

Hell, even Iowa...who is also ranked and in the hunt for their conference championship...overcame their nepotism a few weeks ago and publicly agreed to basically fire Brian Ferentz after the season.

Everyone but us seems willing to roll the dice and make changes....

You can't really compare the Iowa situation. They have one of the best defenses in all of college football and are in the Big Ten west which is a poop show this year. Even with all that, they are extremely lucky to have as many wins as they do. Wyoming's offense is hands-down better than Iowa's.

Only marginally.

Total Yds/Gm: 301.6 vs. 243

Pass Yds/Gm: 152.2 vs 122

Rush Yds/Gm: 149.3 vs 121

Pts/Gm: 22.9 vs 18.8

They've both been amongst the nation's worst for years, and Wyoming...even in a year where the offense has appeared to come to life a bit at times... is currently sitting at #12 in the MWC. Yes, Wyoming is slightly better, but you're comparing a giant turd to a pile of diarrhea.

Regardless, you're kindof making my point for me. Iowa at least has had their defense and special teams to lean on. We don't even have that, and are still apparently unwilling to make changes.

Some "schools" have much higher standards and expectations that others. Boise >>>>>>> WYO

Personally, I find that unacceptable. Completely unacceptable.

Iowa plays on a down b1g which is still A LOT better than the MWC. If WYO offense played b1g schedule, WYO offense would be worse than Iowa.

All the reports I've read said he's 100% completely lost the locker room. Add that to McAllister leaving and potentially Greene and others as well.

Plus, they had a prized in-state commit seen visiting another school this past weekend. Whether that was a cause or an effect (already caught wind of the firing and was looking elsewhere) is up for debate I guess, but yea.

Yea, he was seen at the Oregon-USC game, and other schools have interest as well.

Boss was always telling me what a badass he was and how he chose BSU. I always thought Boise might be the biggest loser in the new world of transfer portal NIL. They lost their best WR, I thought Greene might transfer before this season but I’m probably just one season off. Theres no way he puts up with 2 qb season.
