He won't be if he attents Wyoming.

I hear ya...but 12 winners since 1935 have come from non-BCS schools. The last was that little prick from bWHYu in 1990. So...it can happen, but yes, it is rare.

Lot of nominees from non BCS-schools by the way...of course voting has some to do with it as well. How can you win a popularity contest when you don't have population on your side in the first place! The east coast / SEC bias really comes into play unfortunately.

What I also found interesting, is that if you take a look at the last few modern day (all BCS) winners (not counting 2007, 2008, 2009) and checked out how many of them actually made a splash in the NFL...

1994 Salaam, Rashaan, Colorado Running Back 1,743
1995 George, Eddie, Ohio State Running Back 1,460
1996 Wuerffel, Danny, Florida Quarterback 1,363
1997 Woodson, Charles, Michigan Cornerback/ Wide Receiver/ Punt Returner 1,815
1998 Williams, Ricky, Texas Running Back 2,355
1999 Dayne, Ron, Wisconsin Running Back 2,042
2000 Weinke, Chris, Florida State Quarterback 1,628
2001 Crouch, Eric, Nebraska Quarterback 770
2002 Palmer, Carson, USC Quarterback 1,328
2003 White, Jason, Oklahoma Quarterback 1,481
2004 Leinart, Matt, USC Quarterback 1,325
2005 Bush, Reggie, USC Running Back 2,541
2006 Smith, Troy, Ohio State Quarterback 2,540
Dear Karma,

Nicholls St runs it as well. AFA coaches taught it to Nicholls St, then AFA bitchslapped them 70-0 in the regular season.

The service academies DO NOT run the wishbone. They run the flexbone which can variate into a wishbone at times. You don't see any school line up in the straight wishbone and go right at people much anymore.

Smith center in Kansas runs the straight wishbone every play and has been featured in espn for their 5 straight state titles and their 72 points in one quarter!
