Re: Will Wyoming over-commit for 2017 if both Hunter and Parker chose UW?
Can I ask how possible it is that Thompson qualifies for a Hathaway and that he accepts that route?

Re: We missed out on a recruit because he shot a bear
Read the article - he was not going to play football at Wyoming, he was going to pursue academics if he came here. Chill out.

Re: 2016 recruiting thread....
If we build relationships with the in-state JUCO coaches, we should have a leg up. And judging by Edwards' comments, Shyatt wasn't too interested in recruiting from the JUCO ranks so hard to say we couldn't have drawn interest from Boucher or Williams if we are engaged in their recruitment. Fair en...

Re: 2016 recruiting thread....
To address a few previous messages: My overall point is that I have faith that the coaching staff does their due diligence and if there's an in-state JC guy that fits the program's needs they make an effort, but they don't waste their time if it is obviously not going to work out. But they don't hav...

Re: 2016 recruiting thread....
Sellers played at Western in Rock Springs, and Dalton is a Wyoming Juco alum as well. If our coaches find a guy they like, they'll go after him. And just because some guys spend 1-2 years in the state doesn't give us any advantage over another D1 school. Actually, for those playing in Gillette, it ...

Re: 2016 recruiting thread....
Another D1 signee from a Wyoming JUCO, Gillette College, that I don't think we pursued. http://www.idahostatesman.com/sports/college/mountain-west/boise-state-university/extra-points-blog/article75632862.html This is getting old. That's 3 D1 talents the last 2 seasons right under our noses. Why are...

Re: Austin Conway Basketball/Football
Um, isn't Justin James the next-best point guard on the roster? We were told he had a PG-capable skillset coming into the season and to my eyes he's easily the next-best ballhandler on the team. I'd bet heavily that he is the primary ballhandler any time Lieberman is on the bench.

Re: Conway as a WR
Every president ever has had to pick enforcement priorities for the executive branch. You're just being naive at this point. You presume that the FBI, DEA, and DOJ have infinite resources. They don't, and thank god for that. Enforcement priorities? Perhaps. Ignoring the law? No. Legalize it or enfo...

Re: Conway as a WR
Their efforts were mostly directed at breaking up dispensaries and large-scale grow/importation operations, in the case of marijuana. I want our government to function according to the laws outlined by the Constitution. Colorado now has dispensaries and large-scale grow operations but being ignored...

Obama has directed the DOJ not to prosecute marijuana possession though - in other words, he's telling federal law enforcement to IGNORE FEDERAL LAW Fixed it for you and it is a violation of the US Constitution Article II Section 3. Obama should enforce the federal law as he is mandated to do. It i...

Re: Conway as a WR
Here is an informative article depicting the supremacy of laws (State vs Federal). The way I see it...until it is reclassified it will always be illegal in the eyes of our federal govt. Because of the "Supremacy Clause" that means that you can be prosecuted for the use, possession, and di...

Re: Are there any assistants we're looking at?
Does anyone know if Lieberman's trainer/AAU coach/roommate is hoping to make coaching a career? He's got a lot of southern California connections and is already in Laramie and involved with the team. The impression I get from his twitter feed is that he is working on his degree and can't really be ...

Re: MTV show Catfish about female track runner at UW
Haha, I was home and got alerted to the Laramie episode since a bunch of the Wyoming guys were tweeting about it. I flipped over and caught the second half of it, when they went to Laramie for the dramatic meeting. I didn't know at the time that she was a track athlete. There is a video making the r...

Re: Geoff Grammar saying Edwards is next coach
I've said it elsewhere, but I think hiring Edwards is a slam dunk. I have been incredibly impressed with him as an assistant and when he's filled in for Shyatt as head coach. He has always come across as someone who's very composed and has great leadership qualities, he has a great mix of experience...

Re: Shyatt retirement rumors...
I'll just say that I will be very disappointed if Shyatt decides to retire now, as I believe he still has more to give the program. That said, two things: 1. I believe college coaches should adhere to the "campsite rule" - leave the place better than it was when you found it. By that measu...

Re: Hunter Thompson
I think it's important to remember that we're not talking Creighton University, perennial Missouri Valley Conference heavyweight. We are talking Creighton University, perennial (post-realignment) Big East Conference competitor. That is a basketball conference that is miles better than the MWC. If Cr...

Re: Bball gurus, are we in trouble?
This conversation has turned more towards personnel (which is fine) and away from the initial question....The rules changes on the surface do seem to be geared toward teams that have players with an NBA skill set. My thoughts on the shot clock change is that if a good defensive team can keep you fr...

Re: Dalton, James, Marshall, Moemeka, Conway suspended
I'm hesitant to weigh in fully on this issue, but I have to say this. I'm deeply involved in the criminal justice field. I see assaults fueled by alcohol on a daily basis. I NEVER see assaults where the perpetrator is high on marijuana. Just in terms of danger to the community vis a vis how it affec...
